I would put forward that the ability of the least Dragonmark of finding
needs to be adjusted because in it's current form is basically unusable.

In a nutshell.

Current form -
You use it on a breakable and
it makes a temp item that is always over your level
and unusable. 99% of the time, unless your max level.

World's easiest fix.
Adjust the least Dragonmark of finding to only make items
the same character level as the person using it OR the current dungeon
level which ever is LOWEST.

Player gets usable items appropriate for that dungeon level and not
stuff higher level then the character making them unusable.

easy breezy

It's been a few since I've taken this Dragonmark... does the backpack-clutter still vanish upon leaving the quest, thus making it a double-shot of uselessness?

Because if it could not do that, it may add a smidgen more usefulness in covering my repair bill.

Temporary items are temporary :)

yes, and that is why having stuff over your level made is useless
because you can not keep it and use it later when you are higher level.

That dragon mark in it's current form is totally useless.

If you run a quest at level not on elite does it give you at lvl items? So base quest level is the same as your level. Elite may be changing something

I'm not sure why anyone would take DM of Finding to begin with, at least not anyone who understands what it does - which is, when successful, to increase the effective level of a chest (and so ML of items within it) by +1.

This means that they sell for a very(!) little bit more, and you have to wait 1 more level before using anything as droploot.

In the (very!) rare instance that you might pull a Tome, this also means that chests can drop tomes 1 quest-level earlier. Yay.

And all that is premised on having a group that both 1) wants to wait for the chest-blesser to do their thing before opening a chest, and 2) can remember to do that - a long reach with most parties. Even if 4 members are on board, there's always that one zerg puppy who "didn't read the /txt"... ever.

At best it's quirky, at worst a waste of a feat - you can do so much better.

Forcing players to run dungeons on normal for their dragon mark to be useful is ridiculous.
It should be useful regardless of the dungeon level and if your running normal or elite or even Reapers for that matter.

The key is, the stuff is Temp and never leaves the dungeon so if it is over
your level, it really does not matter why, it becomes useless.
Because you can't use it.

Also remember, the items are really random, so even >>IF<< you could use
them because they are level cap'd at your level (which I suggest) a whole
bunch of times the items will not be for your class, or is unhelpful in the dungeon
or just duplicates something you already have or a weapon that is not
better than what you have.

Nobody takes it --- DUH, it is not useable
Who would want that dragon mark? who cares
The final form is not useful. you opinion only (making a chest generate better loot
is useful because at least you can take it out of the dungeon and at least sell it)

Just needs a small adjustment, this is not rocket science
Just cap the generated item at the character level who used the Dragon Mark.
nothing else has to be done.

Yes, for literally dozens of plat more per item, assuming the party lets you do your dance over the chests.

Wow. So glad I just got a +5 HoW so I can rush out and respec to DM of Finding.

Things that are broken or do not function properly should be fixed,
even if you don't like them or never use them.

I never play Reaper 10 but if it was broke, I would support fixing it.

Anyone miffed about higher level gear must not do any crafting ...just saying
This mark is used as a changed feat once you cap to grind for gear...
You can thank me for this realization later.
You should always have a main and an alt...and alternate TR ETR on both.
Should is a suggestion.
Chest blessing from what I remember involves a Charisma check..
That's the whole reason to take it.
Not for temporary equipment from breakables.
