So the Universal Enhancement tome is available to my character in the ddo store so I purchase it. I only have 1 universal AP and it says it will give me 2 points but when I purchase it and try to use it, it says I already have the bonus. Is there a typo in the item? I submitted a ticket days ago with no response.

you already had the bonus of an universal tome +1?
then, there's nothing wrong. they are not supposed to stack. you can't read a second +1 for a +2. in such a case, to have +2, you'll need an upgrade from +1 to +2, or a +2 tome. btw, it does not exist in game for universal AP. for racial AP, yes.
it is not filtered out from the store cause it is bta, it is supposed to be buyable cause can be passed to another char via shared bank.
edit: whoa wait what is that, i did not look at the screenshot, it's a tome +1 but the description says +2. ssg really?
ssg really, put your stuff together.
ask for a refund.

Did you look at the screenshot? It says it is a +2 tome and it is bound to character

I guess the title would be +1 upgrade tome if it was what I expected it to be but I just saw the +2 in the description and assumed it was an upgrade tome

i did some edit, you ninja'd it. yes i looked at it, but after my comment, and then i edited. it is all messed up.
universal ap tome +2 does not exist, it is all messed up and wrong. the name of the tome is accurate, +1, the description, +2, is wrong.
refund.

yes very unusual. if you bought the tome of enhancement universal tree from the ddo store it should be btaccount. and it has that typo that says it will give +2 instead of +1 in contrast to the name of the item.
when you bought it from the ddo store did you buy it knowing it was as a +1? cuz the ddo store would not have shown a preview of that typo.
given the typo and the fact that it is btchar you should be able to get a refund you just have to wait for a customer agent to get back to you.

There is only one good solution to this...release +2 Universal AP Tomes and give one to the OP. We have been stuck at +1 for a while. It's time for +2! :D

A +2 universal tome would pose a question whether it should be possible to have 2 capstones. Devs are probably not ready to deal with this.

This opens some new options ;)

I am sure when they are ready to release the +2 UT AP tome, they will just make capstones like T5 abilities, 1 only. Would be the only way to do a +2 tome.

I'm optimistic that the developers are aware that they could limit the number of possible capstone enhancements to one.
My suggestion would be to limit the numbers of capstones to one and introduce +2 universal enhancement tomes AND +2 class enhancement tomes and then it is still possible to allow two capstones in the future.
But it might be a problem to implement such a limitation when I see how long it took before they finally fixed Ki Shout. (I'm happy the devs made it and it is now working once again)
By the way, personally, I would not allow two capstones but I would also not complain if it is allowed :o

The Capstones are so hit and miss. Some of them are extremely good and are worth staying pure for the capstones, unfortunately others aren't even worth spending the AP on getting. Never mind altering your build and remaining pure. What SSG really need to do, is go over the capstones and make sure each one is definitely worth building towards. When i first started playing DDO (many years ago :( ) i use to always build pure characters (not because of the cap stones, just because i was never interested in min/max a character). Nowadays i never build pure characters. All of my characters have a splash of a different class so i can pick low hanging fruit either in the enhancement trees or the class itself. They would have to make the capstones truly spectacular for me to consider playing pure characters again.

Considering the only way to get 2 capstones would be to have exactly 41 points in exactly two trees (at least one of which would have to be a universal tree), I don't think it would be a problem. Capstones are not that strong these days and, in exchange for having two capstones, you wouldn't be able to put any points in any other trees (which would cost you some nice bonuses in exchange for the second capstone). I wouldn't be surprised if 2 capstone builds were very unpopular even if they were allowed.
