View Full Version : 32/64 Bit Client Issues

Only recently did the 32-bit client start crashing in the Feywild wilderness. I think I saw someone else having the same problem and the solution was to use the 64-bit client.
The 64-bit client does run smoother, but the real issue I'm having here is the name colors get messed up in 64-bit. Only in 64-bit, doesn't happen in 32. Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me? Sometimes when zoning into a new location, instead of the name colors that are set in options, players and NPCs (at random) have a yellow color for their names. It's been this way since 64-bit was in beta and I thought it just had something to do with it being in beta, but it no longer says beta so it seems like the problem is here to stay. It's kind of irritating so I'd really like to know if there's some solution for this.
Yes. My 32 bit client crashes to desktop periodically, more often in Feywild, but more or less anywhere.
Worse...64 bit client performance is awful:
32 bit: Max settings, 120-170fps
64-bit: Max settings, 20fps

Most of the time players and NPCs have a yellow colour for names in 64-bit for me too, would be great if that was fixed. Also the z-fighting (flickering textures in many places).
The only real game-breaking thing is the cutscene after finishing spinner of shadows. That makes my client crash to desktop without fail every single time on 64-bit, so I have to restart in 32-bit, squint to avoid being blinded as the 32-bit client sets whole-computer brightness to absolute max (full-screen window for the game), try to skip the ultra-loud cutscene as quickly as possible to avoid being deafened, quit as quickly as possible, and restart in 64-bit. Would be awesome if everything about that experience was fixed, with an option from the quest-giver to skip the cutscene being a very acceptable compromise.

I would love to skip half that whole quest chain...not just the cut scene but all the scripted in-quest vignettes too. All the monologuing in Spinner. The Elminster intro in Beyond the Rift. The rakshasa's speech at the end of LoD.
It's like being forced to watch ads before a video...every single time...

I'm not sure if it's related but ever since they added that option, whether i use 64-bit or 32-bit, my client takes ages to completely close when quiting the game.
I quit the game normally through the Main Menu, then the game goes black and stays like that for sometimes a whole 5 minutes.
