View Full Version : Question about the Epic Destiny Reincarnation Bug
Hello, i have a question to the people who already experienced the feared " all my destinies and twist of fate points are lost!" bug after a bugged epic reincarnation process.
I ask because it happened to me: character stuck 3 days in middle of reincarnation process, no answer or help from SSG to solve the problem before server reset, so all destiny and twist of fate points are now gone (even if i kept the full XP for 3 Destiny Spheres).
My question is about what i should do now (i opened a ticket of course). Can i still play the character and claim a destiny to start to level him while i wait an answer to my ticket? Or should i avoid to play this character until a GM resolve the problem? Because i am not sure if claiming a destiny could mess more the datas from my character than it is actually and prevent GM to solve the problem.
And also i don't know if i can earn Destiny points and xp if my destiny spheres are already capped...

sorry to hear about this (and that this still happens).
when did you initiate/start the epic reincarnation? you said that the character has been in that state for 3 days - so does that mean you started the epic reincarnation on saturday?
I am asking because there was an update/patch 50.2 on Wednesday August 18th - did you possibly initiate the epic reincarnation before the patch, and then actually reincarnate after the patch? there used to be some issue with character versioning when reincarnation before and after an update (which was fixed sometime around update 46.2.3 which forces the character to log into the game prior to resuming the reincarnation process):

We have discovered an issue where reincarnation data can become unreadable by the game after an update. This can cause Epic Destiny loss if a character is logged out before a patch and reincarnated after a patch, if that character has not been logged into after the patch. In order to prevent this from happening, characters must be logged out on the same version of the game that they are reincarnated on. If reincarnation is begun and then a patch occurs, the character will be directed to log into the game prior to completing reincarnation.
but since you said 3 days, I gather that it happened sometime over the weekend? when you say that you were in a 'stuck' state, do you mean that you were stuck in the Place Between, and that you waited for GM assistance, but then with the weekly server reset on Wednesday, you found that all your epic destinies and fate points were lost?
you should check to see you have all your inherent tome bonuses on your stats. I personally feel that you should wait until a GM gets back to you because the more you quest, the more you will depart from the current stuck state, but I cannot say how long that will take (especially with the notice Cordovan posted about slower response times, and them currently working to bring in new support agents):

Yes it is what happened to my character. He was stuck on loading screen for 3 days (couldn't log him, message error was "Character already logged in the world). What i do was to use the reincarnation option, recreated the character so he was back to level 1. When i tried to log him to speak to the NPC to start to raise him to 20 (right after i recreated the character in reacarnation process) i get an infinite loading screen for a while and the character never logged. After that i was totally unable to log him before the weekly reset, who get him unstuck but also totally messed the destiny trees and twist and fates (but strangely not the Destiny Sphere XP)
I get an answer from a GM Called Karadoc but the time for me to answer him my request was already back in the queue. I suppose they will try to resolve the problem, but unfortunatly i dont know the delay (and also i dont know if my presence logged on this character is also mandatory to resolve the problem)
I am still waiting for GM help, letting my character logged in for that when i am at home. Unfortunatly the GM who checked my oldest ticket closed it because...i was logged on my character so for him it mean my problem is solved and i dont need help anymore. He didnt take the time read the most part of my comment where i asked for help to recover my Destiny points. I suppose my other ticket will be also closed for the same reason this weekend.
One week later my issue is still not resolved.
2 Tikets have been closed by GM:
*ticket ID#: 5372057 have been closed by GM +P******+ 4 days ago, saying my problem was solved. IT WAS NOT solved. The GM didnt even took the time to send me a tell, i was online!
*tiket ID#: 5372367 Have been closed yesterday by gm +A******+, because i missed the send from him (I WAS ONLINE WAITING for help) but instead to send me a tell later he closed my ticket saying i had to be online...
I sill have 2 tickets open:
*ticket 5372393 who have been open by a GM since one week but no news since.
*ticket 5373443 opened yesterday because the 2 oldest have been closed without real explanation.
But i am pessimistic about this 2 tickets. I HAVE NO ETA for help to resolve this problem since ONE WEEK. Even when i am online on this character (it mean i can't play another character in the waiting....) my requests are closed because i didnt answered at time to a single GM tell, or closed without any tell or real explanation.
And today it was asked to me to rate the support i received...as if my problem was solved....

oddly enough, I know a player who epic reincarnated and experienced the same/similar issue as you - after the epic reincarnation was initiated, he tried loading back into the world, and it got stuck in a loading screen and eventually the client quit. when he tried to load in again, he got the error that this character is already in the world, and has been unable to log in as that character, presumably until tomorrow (wednesday server restart). he is not too worried about it in his case though, since it is a first-lifer, and he did not have many epic destinies filled out.
aside from your in-game GM support tickets, have you also tried submitting a ticket through the standing stone games support website? :

I feel like, in your case, the in-game support will probably assist you (eventually), but it might help if you also make your case known through the support site, and mention the in-game ticket #'s.

Thank you for your answer. Yes i also used the SSG support, but unfortunatly when the request is checked its transfered as a DDO ingame ticket, where they ask for GM help as if i did it myself. My SSG ticket is now considered closed and "resolved", and i was asked by email to rate the help they gave to me. I am still waiting for someone to resolve my problem....
I think its a dead end. I can't play another character, i have to be logged on this one. I can't spend my time logged on my character, waiting for an eventual help, and check the game each minute to be sure to not miss another GM tell and avoid another ticket closure

so that person who had their character stuck after epic reincarnation was able to finally log in after the thursday server reset this week, and yes - his epic levels were wiped out. he had all his karma intact, but all his epic destiny xp and levels were reset to 0. but he was not too concerned about it, because he only had one epic past life on that character.
I do hope that a GM is able to help you with restoring your character soon.
I have seen this issue on the forums being reported recently. I wonder when they do the epic destiny update later this year whether it will make this problem go away completely.
