After returning to DDO after a long vacation, the members of my guild and found that it had been disbanded. We were the officers, and none of us disbanded it. Does SSG have a policy of disbanding inactive guilds? Is it possible to at least get our Kraken back?. Kind of upset over the loss of a $200 investment on that one.

If you're gone long enough, even a Member can usurp the guild.
Maybe submit a ticket with the character that actually bought the ship and cross your fingers.

DDO does not disband Guilds.
If you're gone long enough, even a Member can usurp the guild.
Not true, not unless that particular Member had been designated as the "Successor".
If a Guild Leader and any Officers (and Successor, if there is one) all go inactive, the Guild is doomed - no mere "member" can ever take over the Guild. Only designated Officers (and the Successor, if there is one) can Usurp. :(

(And I can confirm this, b/c I have a little-used alt on an alt server that is Member of a "dead" guild, and I can't do a darn thing about it.)
So, in this case, the only explanation is that the Leader (either the original Leader or an Officer who Usurped absent leadership) disbanded the Guild.
Don't know if there is any remedy, but it can't hurt to ask. GL. :/

oh, such a shame, i hope you'll get help.
all C-Dog said is spot on and accurate.
all points to the original leader \ usurper successor \ usurper officer as guilty of disbanding
sure it cannot hurt to ask to game support about it, if maybe there was some error or something
good luck

This is why I am confused. We had a tiny guild. All members hang out in real life. I am talking 6 people here. I was the successor, the airship was bought by the leader. None of us have a clue how the guild got disbanded.

You have a traitor in your midst! Dun dun dun...
I can vouch for what C-Dog said too, down to also having an alt in an abandoned guild from 10 years ago and a big empty airship all to myself, but no way to do anything about it.
Are you SURE there wasn't even one other person in there who was an officer? Otherwise it is very mysterious.

This is one of the features that Guild leadership has been pleading for for a while now - the ability to sort characters by Account, and to deal with The Player and not just The Character.
It's not impossible that one of your legit Officers invited a quiet outsider, who got then got forgotten, lost in the shuffle and slipped thru the cracks, got promoted to Officer along with all the other "friends", and ended up w/ the Guild all to themselves - or so they thought. :/

yeah, another possibility is that the guild is not disbanded, this "eventual person" just kicked eveyone out and maybe renamed the guild too.
exploring possibilities.
but if the OP is so sure there were just the group of rl friends hanging around, this is really some material for asking support. they would never put themselves into some players quarrel, but this would be different, if it just vanished, there's a bug. or at least try to have some kind of answer about what happened.
