You can, of course, get some nice xp rewards for doing sagas. But those, we're told, are kinda arduous to code, so they're only added sparingly. But I think they do a good job of encouraging you to run all the quests. Non saga quests, however, get left out a lot more as a result.
Conversely, quest chains have rewards that don't really make it worthwhile to run undesirable quests. It's just random loot, maybe a L15 named item in Epic...
So simple fix: can we add small xp stones to the reward tree for quest chains? Thinking like 50% of the xp for completing one quest in the chain. Consume-on-collect, if possible, btc+ml if not.
I don't think that'd be too problematic in terms of abuse, and it'd put a lot of older quests back in the discussion, as expansions keep adding more and more sagas.
