Hello,

I made my very first Shifter character - but I hesitated in doing so for a long time, because i don't like the look of the hands and the feet.

So, now, I'm still not liking that, although i like the shifter in general,
but now, I'm looking for an armor pieces which includes gloves and footwear.
It should be low-level or possible to glamer, since my Shifter is currently at level 3.

So far, all armor I know always shows both.
I thought that the Vampire Hunter's cosmetic armor would include both ... - but it doesn't.

Does anyone here have any idea ?

Alrik

I tossed together a female shifter iconic and just tried on the cosmetics I got from all my expacks/store packs and it looks like at least female gets foot coverings with both Ravenloft cosmetics and the crest of wave cosmetic. I haven't pulled up my cosmetic storage or other storage alts but at least you know those three have shoes/boots. Off the top of my head I couldn't immediately recall any armors with gauntlets to check but maybe after dinner I can have some time for it.

I had foot covering with the heavy armor of celebration. Didn't even notice bare feet until second shifter life.

I can confirm foot covers for the Wavecrest cosmetic armor.

Okay I finally had a block of uninterrupted time. I tried Platemail of the Barovian Lord, Barovian Aristocrats cosmetic, Executioner's Plate, Vampire Hunter Cosmetic, Blessed Bulwark, Bronze Dragon Plate, Cormyrean Green Dragonscale? the medium, Wilderness Cosmetic, Festivult Winter Coat Cosmetic, Cerulean Crest of Wave, both Feywild Cosmetics, both Sharn cosmetics and Plate Armor of the Deep.

This was a rough shove everything quick-like in the Shared Bank and try, try, try.

These were the best results:

Upper far left Platemail of the Barovian Lord
Upper left-center Executioner's Plate
Upper right-center Vampire Hunter Cosmetic
Upper far right Festivult Winter Coat
Lower far left Cerulean Crest of Wave
Lower left-center Blessed Bulwark (note the feet are bare but it has gauntlets they just don't cover the fingertips)
Lower far right Barovian Aristocats Cosmetic

Lower center bugs: when riding a horse you can clearly see the shifter's feet poking through the boots of the Vampire Hunter's cosmetic
On the log in screen the female shifter's left hand (on the right side of the image when facing the player) is all messed up with the fingers not attached appropriately, this was a bug that I pointed out on Lammania before Feywild became a part of the game. It does not appear inside the game but only on the log-in character selection screen.

For what you are looking for Alrik I believe Executioner's Platemail is most likely your best option, keep in mind there is a gold version of that armor as a cosmetic available through the Mysterious Remnants Vendor on special bonus weekends.

Oh I have way, way more cosmetics than that but I knew a lot of the dressy robe type items didn't have gauntlets and I stuck to just the named stuff because there wouldn't be any way for him to reproduce the Mirrored random gen easily.

And I didn't try the Night revels armor for instance because I've forgotten on whom I have that stashed. Maybe someone else could give that a looksee on Shifter?

Thank you very much for your efforts.

I can say, by the way, that the Rough Plate has a glove on *one* of both hands.

By the way, interestingly, the cosmetic Aasimar Scourge armor has gloves as well, but naturally I'm unable to test it on a Shifter, since it is BTC.
And I don't want to use a mirror for that ... "just for testing". To me, the mirrors are too rare and too expensive "just for testing".

I can try out the Night Revels armor, I have that glamered as well (I just found that piece too good !).

Lotus mail from doesn't have hands covered but it does have boots and looks good on a Shifter.

The Summer Scale looks almost identical, only in high summer colours ("Lotus" seems to be more like spring).

Cosmetic items having gloves and footwear :

- Feywild Winter Eladrin Warrior cosmetic armor
- Shadowfell Legendary version Wilderness cosmetic outfit (if only there wasn't that ugly skull !!)
- Sharn Inquisitive cosmetoc outfit
- Borderlands Warrior cosmetic armor.

Couriously, no standard random armor.

Okay, I think I've found what the problem ist :

No matter which armor I choose, the feet and hands are almost displayed ! - At least this is the case with the Shadowfell Wildness cosmetic armor.
My Half-Elf *definitively* shows gloves and footwear there - the Shifter doesn't !

As far as I can tell (and I don't have shifter so I can't say for certain) their hands and feet work similarly to dragonborn's.

Armors are made up of two "parts", the base texture layer and the 3D model part on top. You can see what I mean if you try previewing some of the DDO store cosmetics, where some of the armors are the exact same but with or without this top layer. The texture layer basically replaces the default underwear and vest combo with an armored texture instead. The hands and feet for dragonborn, and presumably shifters as well, are textured separately from the rest of the body and won't be replaced when equipping any armor. The 3D top layer will show regardless of race though, so you can get a gaunlet/wristguard/half-glove type of look, but fully covering the hands may be impossible.

This is a good explanation, and understandable for me.
Yes, that makes sense.
