Question to dev team. Is there anyway we can have a system that adds augment slots to weapons that don't already have that color augment. Much like the Filigrees where you can unlock a new slot with a spark. the major thing people enjoy about this game is the endless customizing i believe this will add greatly to that . So is to say add a red slot to a weapon that only has a purple so now it has both. OR a orange or purple to something with only a red. I think this will open many options of dr/- bypass (this is one of the biggest struggles for new players )and lead to future cool new named augs from raids

Isn't it a question to the dev team ?
Of course players would think it's cool. Is it balanced, appropriate, or possible? Not sure how we would know.
So, sure? Yes? The more power creep the better, I'm pretty sure they say.

yah but thought others would like to chime in to with their thoughts. not looking at as a power creep stand point but a options stand point. i think embracing augments more can be away to open choices in builds in the future.

Sounds a lot like asking for more P2W to me - just vote "no".

Yeah, I'm gonna go with a pretty hard NO on that one.
I'd rather see more augments that are useful at low levels than have more slots with nothing interesting to put in them (seriously, the Heroic Borderlands slots are pretty useless).

You want to add a second slot (of a different color) to an item that already has a slot? Yeah I'm going to have to say that is kind of power-creepy. Because if its a weapon for instance you can already add a Dmg reduction type to it via its original red slot, you have to make a choice between more damage or breaking a type of damage reduction.
Now had you, for instance, asked to be able to craft an augment slot on an item without a slot at all, I would have said that's okay because you would only be bringing it to closer par with existing named items.
So if for example you wanted to be able to add an orange slot to Moonwillow https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Moonwillow I would say no that's unnecessary powercreep, however if you wanted to add a red slot to some random generated Thaumaturgy scepter that had NONE I'd say sure whatever, its never going to be as good as a recent named spell casting scepter of similar level. IMHO, adding slots to random generated or cannith crafted items (that do NOT already have slots) would increase options without adding to the over-all powercreep because slotted and multi-slotted item blanks already exist but are not exactly easy to acquire of the appropriate item type desired.
I've suggested before that gems be used in cannith crafting to add slots to existing random gen or cannith crafted items. A nice qualitative Cannith Crafting update could add this ability as well as adding an item material type into the extra slot using the existing Mystical ingredients.
I do think the devs should go back through and make certain every named item has at least one appropriate augment slot. But they have been making efforts toward this and standardizing named item effects by level, albeit slowly, which I appreciate.
