The mimics are great. I just hope you can have the vendor to use for the tokens. Not to turn them off just get the items as they could come handy

They forgot to toggle on the randomly spawning beholders and mind flayers for Korthos island & beyond. Protect the Cannith Crystal from 15 beholders...

I would prefer the mimics go or have the ability to turn them off. With lag and all the other perils of hard core, the mimics are unnecessary. Let those that want them have the option to keep them on but let the rest of us turn them off.
Maybe sell something at the mimic vendor on hardcore only to show they killed so many mimics to reward those that want to play with them on.

I see I'm not the only one thinking these thoughts. It's also scary that others out there thinking like I do. :)

There's been so much lag on the Hardcore server the mimics have been murdering everyone - literally its been a murderfest - and with no extralives - i understand its hardcore, but with the lag and game freezing, then a mimic kills you and that's that it seems like a bush league move not to have a least 1 extra life token as a nod to the reality of your servers and game environment.
Game freezes, rubber banding, pauses, failed spells, warping, monster dots burning you down while you cannot move - this with a 18 ping, and no hops - im literally in MA next to the servers and I lag. I can't imagine how it is for someone playing on the west coast or Europe.

It's a bit iffy in the public areas but within quests I've been fine. So far at least.

Location really doesn't matter much (well, I'm sure there's some exceptions) because what people refer to as "lag" isn't lag in the traditional sense of poor latency causing issues; we may call it lag but it's generally other hardware/software issues.

There was no patch. This was simply a restart and some server maintenance to address overall server performance. We believe the play experience on Hardcore should be a bit smoother now that this work has been completed.

Please stick to the rule of no festivals on HC or bring them all when they are up on live servers. Also, if mimic festival is on, bring the vendor in at the Hall of Heroes. This almost seems like a money grab to go after people who spend it on HCL. Please don't waste what little good will towards the game that left by trolling players on the HCL. Sorry if I seem bitter, I haven't died to any mimics, but Seeing " XXX died to mimic every few seconds isn't cool. Also, going back to the no festivals rule, we should get crystal cove and maybar in the future.

I'm pretty sure it's not a typical event. It's a part of the theme and the mimic event is just being used as the backbone of the theme.

I like it, way more stressful, but after 3rd season three lives easy mode, we get HC hard mode with mimics. but darn are they scaring the beejebus out of me when i forget to be mindful of them an open a chest.

40 Mimic tokens for an extra life sounds fair, but can you survive that many mimics?

I feel like you should be represented as a funky Kobold Shaman riding on the back of a majestic Giant chipmunk next anniversary event.

First Feytwisted timer bypass cash grab, now HCL Mimics to wipe supreme tome/AS for daily dice/whatever else people spend on HC server cash grab.
Devs either know exactly what they're doing or they got lucky stumbling backwards twice in a row.

First Feytwisted timer bypass cash grab
No, really, this strikes me a lot: why feytwisted raid chest == buy time bypass????? There was literally no reason to behave as such. If you decided to do that, that's your decision. I have been doing the raid regularly on regular timer without stressing for a feytwisted, why coudnt you?

You have this backwards. The server IS a Mimic!
It'd explain why it hasn't been quite the same for a while, and randomly ceases to do its usual server functions, eats raw data, and, much like its chest-looking brethren, refuses to give it back.

Lag is definitely not related to latency for most people. If you have a high latency then that is probably a contributing factor.
For me, with a latency just a bit worse than DLM's, lag is number of people in the public area or the number of people in the group or the builds in the group, etc.
This is a list of the systems stacking at this point in the game:
Feats
Gear
Enhancements
Epic Destinies
Reaper Enhancements
Temporary Buffs from the above
Temporary Buffs from items/consumables
Feats have recently been enhanced by the inclusion of favor feats that add "permanent" hp and skills.
Gear has gotten additional affixes and augments have been revamped.
On the mob side we're not talking basic templated mobs any more. Now you have champions, whose abilities are rolled up at spawn. Reapers, who are like super champions and can spawn at any point that a mob spawns in or dies.
The question is how much can you load onto the game engine without completely overhauling the network code to make the client-server interactions more efficient with less information passing back and forth all the time?
I was in a group a couple of weeks ago doing some low level r1 leveling. We did Von 1&2 and towards the end of Von 2 one of the other players asked if I was lagging. For a change I wasn't and I said no, not lagging. He said he was seeing me bounce all over the place and it looked like lag to him. I asked him if he was lagging and he said no, except that I was bouncing all over the place in his client.
Well I probably was bouncing all over the place from his perspective. From my perspective I was doing the usual swing-step-swing-step, get behind the mob and get a free swing in, etc. It was very smooth from my perspective. However I had 26MS ping to the servers and he probably had more than that so the smooth movement I was seeing probably looked very herky jerky to him.
I put in a move and it went to the server and then down back to his client and then I put in another move and it went up and then back down to his client and all the while the game engine and network code was undoubtedly optimized to show me a smooth progression and updated him less well as to the position of other players.
Anyway after the second instance the group broke up and I'm fairly sure it was my play style that had put them off. If a player looks like he is lagging and warping, well that's a player you're less likely to want to play with even if you are not lagging yourself. I was leading the group in kills, however it wasn't a particularly competitive group and I wasn't leading by that much so its not like the group would have felt like I was dominating the playing field.
