I'm usually quite "calm" and "moderate" towards SSG, but seriously...
The medium ingredient bag is an insult, a slap to the face.
We literally get a *LARGE* every single like from Twelve favor. I have 6 of them, most of them are still empty, I sold the others for like... 80k plat? maybe less?
And since the medium is btc... you are literallly giving us the plat value at a vendor...


You had so many other options, like:
- A bag larger than large, even just a huge one
- Any other bag larger than what we get *FOR FREE* in game, so it could be: huge ingredients, medium augments, huge gem. (I probably would have no used any of them anyway, since I have some store bought bags, at the very least I could understand the change)
- Any store only bag, like a Contract Folder or, gosh, even the Cookie Jar could have been fine
- Some small number of astral shards (50? 100?)
- Literally the *POINTS VALUE OF THE MEDIUM* would have been fine. If players wanted the medium they could then buy it, but if we didnt want we could use them for something else.


I have no idea who in the team came up with this idea, but it is literally the worst idea in the last 4 year.
Also not cool adding it to a patch without first getting any kind of feedback from you *paying* (since this is a paid item) customers.

You need to send your marketing people out for some training. Really. Not only are you upsetting current customers, you are hurting future sales of the Borderlands Upgrade package.

Replace the Borderlands Mount Bag with a new, exclusive mount. Go into the Lord of the Rings Online, pick a mount that looks DDO appropriate, grab the skin, tweak if for DDO, and offer it here. Your mount artist, who is quite good, can probably do that in a few hours. Your will make happy customers and sell a lot more Borderlands Upgrade packages with two exclusive mounts in there. Tell customers the Medium Ingredients Bag thing was a goof. Spin this in your favor and do not tarry.

I'd suspect even several 'Enchanted Horseshoes', a stack of 'Quaal Feather Tokens' or a generic horse redeem token would be more fitting. Than a Small Ingredients bag (presumably BoA to Character), which is typically acquired just by talking to NPC Jeanselme in 'The Twelve', or available via a 'House Phiarlan' or 'House Jorasco' vendor. Obviously the people whom purchased 'The Keep on the Borderlands Bonus Items' already have the 'Steed of the Borderlands', but may want to acquire other mounts.

Unless this Bag is unbound, which it won't be due to potential underground economy, it seems like a very peculiar substitution. I do have some empathy for anyone whom purchased the: The Keep on the Borderlands Bonus Items bundle, and get given the bag as the substitute product. :-/

They have largely abandoned their own forums for interacting with their customers, preferring instead the DDO Discord.

The one good thing I see in all this, is that he is obviously reading the thread. Maybe some of the 'customer' feedback will sink in through osmosis. But what I have seen from SSG in the past couple of years is zero contrition and certainly never changing course to please 'customers'. That would just be silly!

I'm excited about the Stable coming with this update and not having to wait for 49 to drop brings a tear of joy to my eye.

I will admit that I'm disappointed that the bag, which I will be honest is the reason I purchased the pack so I could hold the unicorns and the Borderland horse I already had, is being exchanged for a medium ingredient bag. I would be less disappointed if this was a choice and not a bag size that is marked 'exclusive'. I honestly have more use for a gem bag then ingredients, as a few of my characters already have medium bags and I worry the delivery will fail because they have that bag on them.

I think the difference is that this was specifically marketed as bonus items. In your example, you paid for access to content and you have it, you still have exactly what you paid for. In this case, you're paying extra to get EXTRA stuff, and you no longer have anything extra.

If they want to make the horses free for all, that's fine. The value of something should never be defined by other people not having it, but solely by its intrinsic value to you - but they just need to replace it with something equally "extra". A Med Ing bag is certainly not that. And that's what I'm seeing here - people arent complaining that "everyone else has the shiny that only I was supposed to have", but "you took away my shiny and just gave me a rock".

I don't get why I should be mad that the mount I paid for and received as part of an expansion, and would have continued to receive on all my future characters is now... going to be exactly the same? I still have that mount on all my characters. But I also now have 1 extra bag slot on all my characters, and another one on 3 characters with a standard mount. AND the other 2 alts I rarely play are also going to get a free standard mount! Why would I be mad?! I'm *stoked*, this is great!

When it comes to the bag swap, it's a different story.

I did not buy the keep on the borderlands item bundle, but I can see exactly why people are mad about it.

Before, there was no mount tab, and a mount bag was the only way to declutter your mounts. The only way to get one of those was in store. Now that's all gone, though I can see them selling mount storage space now, which means they plan loads more mounts, and I'm honestly excited for that.

However, there were and are several in-game sources of ingredient bags, and even a crafting tab in the shared bank to put excess ingredients in.

So I think an augment bag or hireling folder would have been a much more equal value swap, because the specific gain of 'something impossible to save space on without spending money' is lost. And I totally would be mad about it if I'd bought the items pack.

But I was responding specifically to the question about buying an expansion for the unicorn, not things you might choose to farm out with time like mounts, which I agree sucks and I definitely get why you'd be frustrated as hell by the futility of all that farming.

I don't think it's quite the 'direct bait and switch' that people are clearly perceiving in the swap around on the bought items though. I doubt bait and switch is at all SSG's motivation of course, I just think it's a big misjudgement that they should revisit.

So, I updated and logged in fine, but...I did get a medium ingredients bag, but nothing has changed with mounts.
My mount bag is still in my inventory and I have no mount stable on my inventory tab.

It loaded fine the first time for me. Logged into Orien to check LFMs (cause some raids were sceduled), then I quit the game (because no raid I was interested in) and turned it on again because I wanted to log into another server. This time however the launcher downloads dndclient.exe (again), proceeds normaly to the "patching screen" (before the actual log in tab appears) where it suddenly stops and a message box appears: Could not patch file 'dndclient.exe', error 5: Access denied.

After i click ok on the box, ddo launcher starts up again, downloads dndclient.exe (again!), goes to patch screen and boom! the same error message again.

So what's going on?
I tried putting all the exe stuff in ddo folder into "run as administrator", doesn't work.

I start ddo through steam btw.

UPDATE: tried repairing game files using ddo launcher, didn't help.

The upgrade vendor doesn't care what is in your stable only in your inventory space; so if you have a slow horse in the stable, it is forever the slow version there. To get a fast horse of the same type, you'd have buy a new slow mount & upgrade it from inventory not in your stable (upside, just like pets you can't add a mount type more than once so no risk of having 2x of the same slow mount in the stable).

The current issue is that when Britain changes its clocks, people get confused because they think it means that GMT has changed when it hasn't. UTC, as you pointed out, never changes so people are unlikely to make the same mistake with it.

If you live in Britain, yes. But other people wouldn't and that's the point. As the times are posted relative to GMT, people think it's relative to whatever the current time is in Britain even when we're on BST. Yes, this is wrong, but people still do it. UTC isn't tied to a particular country though, so people wouldn't make the same mistake because there is no country for them to get the wrong time from.

Anyway, this has all gone rather off-topic, so I'll stop there.

If this is true, it should be communicated to players or changed. I don’t like grind or farming, so I only have two of the collected mounts (can’t even remember which of my 60 characters the first one is on) and have never found a horseshoe to upgrade them with. I still want to use them for variety, even if they are slow, AND would like to be able to upgrade them if I get a horseshoe.
