[Why do people not do LFM?]
Because It's... bothering.

[What bothers them? We have an automatic LFM system.]
1. We need to find a quest to advertise with our hands. It takes our time.
-> "You have an automatic LFM system. You don't need to find a quest."

2. Automatic LFM puts weird level range. It forces +1 from the max dungeon level.
ex) Sharn Syndicate is Level 4 quests, which means the max level is 6. With Auto-LFM, It advertises 4-7.
You know we don't want to lose exp bonuses from taking a +1 level player.

3. because of these, well-farmed soloing users don't advertise their runs well. For me, I usually run solo as a sorcerer to do TRs.
It's not only for me. most hideous players do. They are too busy to level up more than LFM-ing manually.
and they don't want to get unexpected penalties from taking a random +1 level player

[Solution?]
Simple, SSG should change the max level thing in the auto-LFM "a little bit." (the example as 3-6 rather than 4-7.)
This will make the LFM more populated than before.

so, we know LFM system isn't very good.
Hard to search manually or being bothered to use auto-LFM. That's why we don't advertise.

I hope you guys put a "signed" post to this thread to make SSG's concern on this.

Thank you.

I don't select quests because it's annoying. I just list stuff like "r1 level 2 quests" or I name chains like "r1 cata" or "r1 sharn1>cogs15>cog16>sharn2". I'm all for it putting better level ranges for the public group option but I suspect that the people who currently put up LFMs will still be the majority of the people who do and most everyone else still won't.

Yesterday I was running Lvl 12s on E-BB for which I had to put up an LFM for an "opener" as I was on a second life alt account character.

Started with Invaders - Manually picked the quest, got my "opener".

Moved on to the Diplo Chain - Manually picked Diplomatic Immunity "opener stayed, 3rd person joined half way through.

Moved on to Framework - "opener" was slow out of Diplo so 3rd person opened ON REAPER and ZERGED IT!

Now in a rush and not willing to ask 3rd person to come out and reset I and "opener" followed BUT I FORGOT TO UPDATE THE LFM.

Moved on to Eyes of Stone {stayed on R1 as 3rd Person was again first in}, FORGOT TO UPDATE THE LFM AGAIN - I had to sell and repair between quests so was again in a rush.

4th Person joins, Can't enter!

Luckily 3rd person left after Eyes of Stone so I didn't have to leave group myself as there was no Elfin way I was going to attempt to do Wiz King on R1 with a Zerger!

Because It's... bothering.

Yeah, the UI is painful and in Heroic the FTB level range is only 2, which seriously cuts down the chance of finding any that might want to do the same content.

Here are some VERY quick & easy changes that would greatly improve LFM

Checkbox for ignoring leading articles for sorting; ie. sort "the crucible" as "crucible"
Checkbox for sorting by saga or by patron
Searchbox for typing quest/saga name (mouse lands there by default on opening)
Tab moves between entry fields, such as searchbox & level range
Level range defaults to acceptable FTB range for that quest
Public group option NEVER pops up
Join-Group window can be set to sticky (esc doesn't close it)
Auto-share current quest to new joiners

And some that would make things incredibly nice, but would take more effort:

Custom quest sequence that auto-advances on completion
Save/load for custom sequences
Pathing arrows for newbies
Arrows work from different zones (directing to teleporters, zone-crossings, etc)

I just wait to see someone join my lfm that I know, then I dump the lfm on them for them to update it.
If I'm relied on to update it, we'll be in the middle of sharn but the lfm says "r1 gh>necro4>rage chain>sharn" or something, and then people get annoyed I'm not actually in gianthold.
Sorry, that was an hour ago.

lfms are just annoying.

In the end, it will have little effect.
anyone willing to fiddle with LFM to find a dungeon already does it.

You want more people in your pugs?
Install a system similar to what wow has.
You wanna group for a dungeon, NP
open the dungeon matching function, choose dungeon,
choose job (healer, DPS, tank) say match and it closes but
will have a pop up when you dungeon group is filled.

If you had that, more people would be willing to pug

Why not?

1. Because I'm gonna get really angry if they finish the quest before the treasure room opt is completed! {And I guarantee that player would have picked up the Phylactery after T1 which when running the Quest on Elite with Non-Zergers we left it and carried on to do the other two towers.}.
2. Because I have no intention of Soloing a **** Tower on a difficulty setting my character isn't built for!
3. I was on a Rogue and got all the traps on E-BB - I guarantee that would not have happened with a Zerger in party {It certainly wouldn't have happened if we were soloing towers!}.

This and:

- quest sharing possible, even when doing out of order and reddoor possible for every non-raid quest (possibly VIP only feature)

- teleport to quest entrance (possibly VIP only feature)

- permanent buddy xp bonus per member, maybe 1% for non VIP, up from 1% to 3% for VIP; could go up on events or during low server population time (like 1am-11 am EST for most servers)

- Show quest that are people in when mousing over group members, elimates having to update quests you can just write "Full GH saga R1" for example, as it would show "Aurum Lair - Foundation of Discord"

- XP Pots not time based, but double xp for X amount, where X is higher the better the pot and the higher the level when drinking (average xp goes up a lot over levels, especially the jump when going into epics) -> this could also make non-zergers buy Pots, so more money for SSG. I also makes opening LFMs to get max xp more enticing, as waiting no longer "costs" you xp and money.

Totally with you on 1, not going to get angry about it but still....
Not been able to get all traps in that one for a long time.

For the first post of this thread:
Signed, super annoying to have to switch the level range every time.
You might even set the wrong quest by accident.

Dont need WOW in DDO the LFM panel could be optimized to make it more efficient within the game OP is referencing the auto LFM which should not require fiddling thou the way it functions it still requires it if you don't want xp penalty.

I joined a group with the auto lfm they were upset that I was effecting the xp by being +1 over lvl penalty.

I dropped group after that quest.

That's one simple change to auto lfm that would solve this.
