View Full Version : Can't atach pix from computer?

I just tried to attach a JPG file to a post (from my computer) but it simply wouldn't do it.

The option to select the image is there, but no option to actually upload it once the file is selected.

What's going on with this witchcraft :mad:

I never use the forum attachments. I always post to imgur and use [ img ] [ /img ] commands to embed them.

Gotta be hosted online for a picture link to work here at Chateau l'DDO.

My preferred site to link from is Imgur (https://imgur.com/). Easy upload, and easy auto-link system. Good luck & have fun.

Ok, thanks for all the help.

Got it sorted and settled, but still don't understand why the page won't allow pix to be uploaded

Probably a forum setting Jerry would have to change to allow it.

Probably a forum setting Jerry would have to change to allow it.We used to be able to upload pics as an attachment. This was around the MyDDO era, I think. Then one day, it was announced that they were stopping attachments. I don't know the why/why not anymore, if it was ever even said. But, since Imgur is so user-friendly, I don't think I ever used the attachment thingie, except maybe once or twice in subforums where linking to an outside page wasn't allowed (another thing I think got changed, but Idunno).

I think it has to do with the size of the image or maybe it's been disabled.

The pics I posted in this thread (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/507885-TR-Bug-DDO-Store-Purchased-Inventory-Slots-Vanishing) were uploaded directly to DDO forum.

That didn't work for this MUCH larger pic (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/518484-Fall-of-Truth-Solo-EE-Melee), which I put elsewhere and linked.

It's fine if it has been disabled. But they should take out the "Manage Attachements" button if that is the case. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to work and finally, became frustrated, and gave up.
