Inquisitive / Thrower build

Hey guys.
I know there are a lot of opinions whether Inquisitive or Thrower build does better on endgame.
I am looking for an endgame build, ofc full geared, for one of the two - that will do good on high reaper content & raids.
I'd like to get some good dps and if possible less squishy.

Is there a build like that?
What do you think is better for that content?

For high tier endgame, Thrower is clearly better. Inqui is strong leveling up and into low-tier endgame, but relies on things like Law die that dont scale as well. Throwers are dependent on mainstat for both base damage and Doubleshot, through Expertise, which means they're weaker leveling up (when mainstat is lower) but then get hugely powerful at endgame (where you can jump to like 120+ mainstat when fully invested).

That's of course assuming they dont nerf Throwers in the near-to-medium future since they seem to be coming after high-attack-rate builds as a source of lag. With the level cap going up, and the probable continuation of mainstat inflation past L30, that's only going to become more exacerbated, too.

So the ultimate answer to your question might not be either, but Horizon Walker :P

I'm hoping my "just reworked" thrower keeps it's DPS across the ranged changes that will come before or at the same time as HW, but at least it's just a "ranged" character and not locked into a particular type of ranged. I suspect the same gear (other than weapon) will work across the changes and only a rebuild might be needed.

Ranged DPS has some oddities. L29+, Thrower beats INQ by somewhere in x1.3~1.8. Conversely, INQ beats Thrower by about the same factor for L1~28. This is entirely due to the way Thrower scales so heavily on Doubleshot and DEX (or INT for Alch). Until L29, your character can't attain the levels of DEX and Double needed for it to match, much less beat Inquisitive.

My ranged character was built to cover this and does L1~28 as Inquisitive then swaps to Thrower in L29. If you include at least one level of artificer, this swap is covered naturally and may only need the one (free) feat swap of IC:Ranged to IC:Thrown at some point in Epics.

BTW, notice how none of the other ranged options were mentioned? No Repeator or Bow? They're worse than Inquisitive at every level. Bow is in particularly bad shape at present. IMHO, neither is currently viable.

My best advice for anyone making a new ranged character is to use Inquisitive right now. Bide your time collecting gear and learning what extra flavors you might want in your ranged char until Horizon Walker. Then rebuild to Thrower or LBow.
