I am curious if we could get an OFFICIAL word
when the Fey expansion and new races/trees will go on sale
in the coin store.

It would be nice if it hit the store before the next HCL but not holding my breath.

Yeah they are still the newest shiny so don't hold your breath until after the next shiny comes.

Why would they announce it ahead of time? All that does is discourage people from paying for it in the meantime

Sharn was released May 14, 2019, and available in the DDO Store as of September 19, 2019. That's 128 days.

Feywild was released on November 4, 2020. 128 days later will be March 12, 2021.

will ssg be able not to self-sabotage itself as usual and fix the reported weird increase in mobs spell damage in time?

Sharn was released May 14, 2019, and available in the DDO Store as of September 19, 2019. That's 128 days.

Feywild was released on November 4, 2020. 128 days later will be March 12, 2021.

Feywild was just completely released as of the most resent patch.

I do not really care when, I mainly just want to to know when.
I know, clear as mud.

in short...

Will I need to pay cash for it by the time the next HCL starts (when ever that is)
OR
will I be able to use coins.

If it is coming up soon, then I will wait and pay coins.
If it is a long ways off, I will need to pay cash so I have time
to run through it and get used to it before HCL starts.

Using coin is also optimal for me because I am
only interested in the dungeons and maybe the Universal tree.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but the devs disagree with you. They explicitly state:
