Does the Alchemical Fire proc on the new magmatic gauntlets artifact even work?

Been testing this around on a barbarian and I've not noticed a fire damage proc even once on a melee attack, is it just broken?

I'm sure there are better artifacts even if the effect was working, but I was hoping I could get some use out of it.

Yes. It appears to be a 1-2% proc chance of around 2k fire damage.

Though I'd be curious to hear your melee gear setup that isn't using Part of the Family. I've tried several variations using Tharne, Tinker's, Suulo, even Silent Avenger and I just can't beat PotF.

Cool so it works, it's just useless like all those 1% procs on level capped gear that effectively the same as 10-20 damage a hit.

As for my gear set up, it's a garbage 7 piece summer setup, part of the family would be objectively better in 99% of situations but I wanted to play around with the new feywild gear, especially the artifacts.

I'm swapping back to part of the family next melee life now that my curiosity is sated.
