View Full Version : Constant Drumming... Getting annoying.

I'm starting to feel like "The Master" from Doctor Who, who hears a non-stop drumming in his head... Except it is being caused by my Shield Guardian hireling... Any way to turn that off? I'd like to play using the items I paid cash for, but it is so annoying I can't. Yes I could turn sound completely off, but I rather like hearing some of the game while playing.

Possibly there's a slider that only cuts that one part out? I have my music off rn so I can chill with Spotify.

I've been running my beholder pet this life instead of my cube because of the sloshing sounds lol.

Sort of, but there's a big catch- it's "sound effect volume" under audio settings. As you might guess, it also affects many other sound effects, like weapon swings, spell sounds, your toon (and mount) footsteps... There's no dedicated toggle/slider for hireling footsteps.

Rune arms, sentient weapons, the DM and people who breath into their mic are the only ones with to earn the badge of shame that is a specific mute slider.

With each update some idiot over at SSG keeps randomly assigning sounds with random attributes and arbitrary volume parameters.
Well, that's how it feels like over at my end.

I think the pro's use a null test for those kind of things. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52kbgFAuu6k)

I would seriously appreciate an ini/config/txt/whatever file where I can assign each initial volume.

I would like cosmetic pet sounds to be placed on their own entry with their own volume slider. I really love mimics and I would like to have my Majestic Violet mimic out and about with me but the loud crash-ka-thunk-ka-thunk sounds it makes annoy the *bleep* out of me.

I'd love a slider for ambient environmental noise too....audio cues for things actually happening I want, but I don't need to hear that **** fountain in sharn sounding like Niagara falls when I log in...or that **** House P piper...

A slider for you and a slider for youuu

I'm always down for more options and I'd like both of these lol.

Pet sounds for my cube (with a wizard hat!) and turn off the Feywild town-sounds a bit plz :x

Months ago I already asked for a more silent sound of the footsteps of the Shield Guardian.

No-one from the community suported me, which can mean only 1 thing : That everyone is totally fine with that loud sound ...

They annoy everybody in the party, not just you. I wish I could mute them when they’re not even mine.

100% agree. The hireling is great, but the sound is too much. I can't bear to keep it out all the time, or even 1/2 the time.

What DDO needs is the filter solution they have in Lotro. In Lotro there is a filter function that lets you filter out any sound you do not want to hear. It is awesome.

The sounds I can just turn off or near off.
The thing about pets that super freak me out is when they glitch out and start bouncing around superfast, esp in harbor near the bank.

I don't read the forum every day, so I missed your post... But, I posted about it in May of last year. The guy I used to duo with said it sounded like sneakers in the dryer.

We cannot get out. We cannot get out. They have taken the bridge and Second Hall. Frár and Lóni and Náli fell there bravely while the rest retreated to the Chamber of Mazarbul. We are still holding...but hope …Óin's party went five days ago but today only four returned. The pool is up to the wall at West-gate. The Watcher in the Water took Óin. We cannot get out. The end comes soon. We hear drums, drums in the deep. They are coming.
