Anyone use custoim UI since they reintroduced them?

I downloaded Cosmos skin and it still partially works despite being 9 years old. About 50% of the windows are altered but I wondered if there were any more recent ones around that would reskin all the UI instead of part of the UI?

There's a mod for it that adds invisible hotbars (just displays the icons) but sadly that no longer seems to do anything.

I'm using Blackbird in both DDO and LOTRO and love it. Black and dark grey, minimal decoration (no distractions), good contrast with icons and texts, haven't found any display bugs so far.

I find the ones players have created to be very one-note (flat colors on flat colors) and eye-jarring.

Tried Cyan out and it made by eyes hurt after 5 minutes of looking at it, promptly switched back to default.

Got blackbird installed right now - its basically perfect for what I need.

I can think of lots of ways the UI can be improved but I guess SSG likely dont have time or resources to do that kind of fundamental change.

I have been using Blackbird for 8-9 years. i never knew they stopped supporting it. go figure i am always the last to know :)

Unfortunately, the UI isn't scalable at this time according to responses in other forum threads. It sounds like something the devs are looking into but, as far as I know, there is no timeline for this.

Its something thats been asked for a long time but I've never seen any hint there's been any attempt at introducing UI scaling. The LotRO UI does scale so I guess there is a precedent already.

There are reasons I might use a different UI/skin, but I suspect the released reskin can't do them:


Fix heal buttons to be "friendly ONLY" (never EVER used for damage)
Add aspect-ratio driven scaling for UWHD & 4K
Remove map border and block map auto-resizing
Add gear-swapping macros (one-button things as for MH+OH swapping)
Add casting macros (mostly for buff sequences)
Add focus/healing target windows
Add target-of-target window
Fix the de/buff display lines

The current UI has a lot of functionality issues, but it's fine visually.

Ya the old skin I use got broken with the update. I really miss the invisible hotbars. If somebody made one with that I would use it.

I got my tool bars enlarged using windows 10 by going to display and changing the size of text, aps and other items to 150% and it is much more visible now it seems to hold up on restarts the only other thing I adjusted was in game text font size other wise I would need binoculars to read chat.
