I'm not trying to be a wiseass, but is there really anything on the todo list that is more important that fixing some basic game functionality?

Challenging quests that require teamwork and timing to be successful are some of the best parts of this game, but without chat working there is no teamwork or precise timing.

I also love new content, but please fix chat, this is getting really old.

Yes, You would think this item would be the upmost important item on their todo list, come on and fixing the chat!!!
It appears to be an issue with the connection to the chat server only. Not sure how hard is it to examine the code to see what is going wrong!
I have not played since this bug hit... I have been play other games.

This just happened to me a few minutes ago. Pretty game breaking. Seems bad.

When I play I'm either not connecting to party chat and the game tells me that, or the game doesn't tell me I'm not connected but nobody gets my messages in party chat.

Whatever is going on, I do hope the devs fix soon.

This was brought up in the service news announcement for yesterday's down time. This was Cordovan's response:

The issue unfortunately is "most" folks aren't having this issue, but those of us who are are being impacted pretty significantly. Has proven elusive to correct so far. We do have folks working on it, and hopefully we'll have better news soon.

Funny thing is, when I cut and paste my "your connection to chat server has been lost" messages after getting my "your connection to the chat server has been restored", the rest of the guild says that happens daily to just about everyone.

That is likely a large part of why it is taking so long to fix. Intermittent problems suck. It's like when your car is making a funny sound but when you take it to the mechanic it doesn't make said sound...what is he/she supposed to look at?

To people who say just look at the code and fix it...it's nowhere near that easy. It could be a decimal point in the wrong spot, a space where there shouldn't be one or any of a thousand other minuscule errors. When you consider this: Why Yuor Barin Can Raed Tihs. I'm pretty sure you were able to read that sentence without trying and it is horribly messed up. Our brains auto-correct what we read all the time, reading code is no different.

I am not sure what it means that "most" people aren't having the issue when I haven't had a group not impacted since this started. There really should be more communication of what is going on and what is being done to fix it. As far as I can tell this is just being left as is. The game is not playable right now, at least on Thelanis.

How does them taking time to post what they are doing, in any way, shape, or form, help them fix it??? They have stated they are aware of the issue and are working on it. When it is fixed they will let you know.

I got hit by that bug for the first time yesterday. Someone shared The Sacred Helm while I was talking to the kobold that gives you the quest, game crashed. I logged back in and saw the message that I couldn't be connected to the chat server. I sent a tell to the party leader letting him know, and got a tell back confirming that he had gotten the message. About 10 minutes later I was automatically connected to the chat server again.

It's an annoying bug, but hardly game breaking. Would definitely be nice to see it fixed, but it's not something worth raging over.
