UPDATE: The game worlds have reopened.
DDO remains unavailable while we investigate issues at the data center. We will keep you updated. The DDO Forums seem to be working well, but if they are down, we will post on Twitter and Facebook.

The BIG crash to all the servers occurred on 7/16/20 at 8:57pm EST. Looking forward to how SSG can resolve 'issues' players on HCL experienced at that moment.

Any reassurance from your Ops team that they have the issue well in hand NOW and tomorrow won't be a 3rd repeat of dead all over hardcore?
Or is this still a bandaid fix -or- a continuing problem with your ISP/routing/3rdpartydatacenter that's out of SSG's control?

Forums also had a "took to long to respond" error just now. A few page refreshes got me here - but things are going pear shaped again, it seems.

Yes it's happening again, had to log off HC server as it is too dangerous to play.

Since we're on day 3 and the network keeps lagging. Perhaps a warning should be given while the weekend crowd starts logging in.
"DDO is currently experiencing chronic network lag issues. Play hardcore at your own risk."

Nice to see all the DDO/SSG apologists giving thanks to them for all their hard work to not fixing this broken game

Since the downtime yesterday, my son and I have frozen mid-play in-game multiple times and were forced to close the application and restart. The freezing occurs in taverns, zoned dungeons, any place really. The character freezes, unable to move or activate anything. Usually after a couple minutes you receive a message that chat is unresponsive. This was not an issue untill yesterday. I hope we are not the only ones having troubles.

People who have appreciation of work that others do for them lead much happier lives...
What evidence do you have that it is their game causing the problem? You think their game is so special that it takes out the entire ddo.com domain and makes it unreachable? seems more like an issue with ISP or networking than a game issue

Yup, there's still a problem - I've just done my Champion Hunter turn in, and am thinking it's perfect weather outside - might have a break for a day or two as the quest I just completed froze several times for about 3 minutes per freeze, I was in Sharn Heroic solo Elite's and broke out in a sweat during a freeze surrounded by force runearm pumping flunkies - survived but reckon, yeh - a little break this weekend :)
Best of luck getting it sorted SS - I know this has got to be a real stone in your shoe at the moment as well as for us players - especially the HC guys, I feel for you.
Coit out :)

I'm still hanging up at the character select screen. The background loads and then freezes and goes non responding.

Both the DDO forums and the Game worlds have had a few tiny connectivity glitches today. The DDO Client couldn't connect for about a five minute time period. Plus the DDO forums actually timed out at few different times, and the forum has been extremely sluggish at responding today, at certain times.
Update: Furthermore several times the Hardcore Server froze today for several seconds with no lag spike on two occasions and one was during a Boss fight. I did also get one Disconnect and Reconnect message once for a few minutes. Then later on perhaps 20 minutes after; 15% Data loss just after a boss fight, but quest completion was possible even though it lead to a DC. Plus I noticed a few unusually high 600+ ms Latency spikes at times today when my Character was just idling. :-/
I did notice several deaths occur in rapid succession from very high Level Characters after the several second freezes/pauses... That makes me wonder if the freezes contributed to their deaths. My connection and machine were running smoothly so it wasn't likely my end at fault.

Tales from the hardcore server:
Kobold Chieftain: "So my kobold hatchlings, once there was a day when our tribe faced destruction. A band of mammal monsters had invaded our sewers. They had slain our ogre allies and our pet wolves. Only a small band of kobold warriors remained. Our doom was nigh. Then time itself seemed to warp and outside the door to the chamber we heard the fateful words. "Lag! I'm not playing hardcore while the server is like this. I'm outta here!" And the tribe was saved. And that is why to this day we pray every night to our savior, the great lord, Lag!"
I don't understand hardcore players. There is something wrong with the network/servers since Wednesday. This is not standard lag but something new. ( so blaming them for not taking care of their servers is silly ) But until it is resolved playing hardcore is like flipping a coin every time you play. Heads you live. Tails you just teleported into a lava pit and remained paralyzed until you died. How can you risk it under these conditions?

Had the same problem this morning, but I just let it sit spinning and it finally brought up my character and allowed me in game. Moved from the Harbor to House J OK and went into the Barovia Wilderness area.
Once in the Wilderness had 1 cases of rubber banding and some little hitching, but all in all worked OK.

Another Level 30, death message appears, preceded with a tiny freeze, I then got a loss of Chat Server Connection message for a few seconds and Reconnection. Makes me wonder if the server is under strain when it's dealing with high Level deaths and adjusting the Leader Boards.

I think that String error; was also someone's death - a different player - that appeared seconds later... after that Level 30 Death message.
Shame we don't have the: Death by (server) Trickery, messages. ;-)

This seems to me the Devs are keeping a DDoS attack secret.... using "ISP Issues" as cover....
We need to band together as DDOs playerbase... we can also actually try and get over to the Lotro Playerbase as well to figure out whats goin on... and estabilish a bond with the devs on this "Issue" .... Dw, You had mentioned this is "new" Lag right? What if it is? could be a possibility think about how old the Server hardware there using is right now... think of the vulnerabilities they could have.... think of how much Security the Devs have on thosE servers... Anything can be a possiblity...
oh. i was told that there were ISP outtages in Boston which is what was affecting DDO uptime... i mean, if the ISP is out, it really isn't SSG's fault their game is down, no?

I can play on the servers just fine, but ever since the servers went down and came back up I have been unable to make any point purchases in the store but can spend DDO points, could you please look into this.
For those who are going to ask, I have no issues on any other game where I buy points to spend in their store, so it's not an issue of my bank blocking access. The only thing that has changed is these server issues on both Lotro and DDO.
