Sovreign Host but THF (deleteme)

I see threads that have Sovreign Host picked at level 1 but are doing THF, with KOTC + SD.
Then are suggesting one should put points into Holy Combatant.
What's the point of that?

You get more favorite weapons in higher tiers.

I was wondering about something similar today when building this THF build from unbongwah (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/470627-Sacred-Knight-For-New-Players-(U29)?p=6317063&viewfull=1#post6317063). It says to take Follower of: Onatar but then the text for the build goes on to say how Greatswords are favored weapons. I am still unsure how that can be when Onatar gives Warhammers as favored weapon. How does this work, you seem to have figured it out?

Tier 3 enhancement in knight of the chalice: Holy Combatant: +2 to hit and damage with Favored Weapons. Greatswords are considered as favored Weapons regardless of your religion.
