Will be probably making new toon.
Was thinking about either wizard or sorcerer or maybe just straight rogue?

But completely got no idea what to start with... What race is good... If i should add some rogue lvls, how self sufficent can I be with those...

Any suggestions?
Or links to actual guides?

I'll be the first to tell you I really don't know what I'm doing, but I've gotten my Barb up to level 17 so I can't be doing to bad.

Long ago I started taking Rogue levels on my Barb so I could solo better by disarming traps and unlocking doors. What I noticed was with level 2 rogue I was OK up to level 6 dungeons. Higher than that I noticed my failure rate went up and I needed to use higher plus thieves tools. With another level of rogue I was fine up to level 10 dungeons.

So to answer your question of how self sufficent can I be with those... I'm going to go with pretty good.

I even took a splash of Cleric and picked up the light heal spell, plus a couple of other useful one's.

I could do hirelings and people will say that's what to do; but between them acting stupid 90% of the time and the whole timer thing, I'd rather rely on myself.

Sorcerers have had their EK tree reworked since most of those posts, so a 41 X Savant/31 EK/8 tbd split is attractive, and Inquisitive (if you can get that tree) is the strong FotM, but most of the others are still solid.

And WB!

You could probably just click on those links at the bottom of c-dog's post and be fine.
