As of Update 46, all of the quest-givers and quest entrances formerly located in the Hall of Heroes have been moved to the new Gatekeepers' Grove public area outside of Stormreach Harbor. The only exception is a redundant entrance to "The Temple of Elemental Evil, Part 1" located on the Hall's Forgotten Realms side. There is no quest-giver for TOEE near the entrance, but Part 1 of the quest can be obtained by clicking on the portal and then entering. There is no TOEE Part 2 here and both TOEE quests can now be picked up in the Gatekeepers' Grove from the actual quest-giver along with the quests' portal, so I'm not sure if the inclusion of this quest portal in the Hall was an oversight or due to some technical problem (devs?). In any case, the TOEE portal should be removed in a future patch for the sake of consistency as the Hall is no longer a quest hub.

So, what will the Hall of Heroes be used for going forward now that it is no longer the Portal to the Planes for the Gatekeeper quests? The Hall has a lot of unused space at the moment and could serve some other purpose, even if this just means adding more vendors for convenience. There is a thread in the Suggestions sub-forum on this subject, but I was hoping that the devs might comment on their plans for the Hall in future updates.

Player housing is the obvious choice here. Or at least a place to display cosmetics, trophies, pets, etc. I think this would be very popular and probably bring back lots of former players as well as new ones.

In lieu of the lack of player housing I've actually taken to using a guild airship as my player house of sorts, primarily for the additional storage as well as the buffs, as most guild benefits are achievable under rank 50 anyway. But it would be nice to have a more permanent player housing solution available in DDO.

Since the community has expressed interest in this for quite a long time, maybe now is a good time to convert the Hall into something like this. I'd imagine they could just apply Hall textures to the existing code that allows for player placed persistent objects used on airships. That, and it would be a major cash cow for DDO.

players’ toons have to appear there somehow, even for a short while like a rotation from some earned challenge

I'd like to see gone guild ship buffing NPCs there, as spectators. It's kind of a museum, isn't it ? ;)

Something should be done with all that space in the Hall of Heroes. Maybe add amusement park style rides, like Tilt-A-Troll or the roller coaster from the '80s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon show. :D

Maybe they could move all the collectable NPCs in there?

Save players having to run round all the houses, marketplace, harbour and Lordsmarch Plaza!
