I want my DDO (x16)

Now look at them yoyo's, that's the way ya do it,
you publish games for SSG.
That ain't working, that's the way ya do it
Money for nothing and your profits for free.
Now that ain't workin, that's the way ya do it,
lemme tell ya them guys ain't dumb.
Maybe get a blister on your little finger,
maybe get a blister on your thumb.

We gotta cut server costs,
virtualize across the board
We gotta lay off the server techs,
We gotta outsource 100%

See the holding company with the all access pass,
Ya buddy, that's your own money.
That billionaire got his own jet airplane,
got sanctioned by the Treasury Dept.

We gotta cut server costs,
virtualize across the board
We gotta lay off the server techs,
We gotta outsource 100%

I shoulda gone with a less shady company,
I shoulda bought from a US firm.
Look at that lag, kicked to desktop,
Man we could get a slayer zone done,
IF we bought another 40 pots..
Now that ain't workin, that's the way ya do it,
you publish games for SSG.

We gotta cut server costs,
virtualize across the board
We gotta lay off the server techs,
We gotta outsource 100%

Looky here,
That ain't working, that's the way ya do it
you publish games for SSG.
That ain't working, that's the way ya do it
Money for nothing and your profits for free.
Money for nothing and profits for free.

Money for nothing and your profits for free.

Look at that, look at that

Money for nothing and your profits for free.

I want my, I want my, I want my DDO
Money for nothing and profits for free.

(fade)
I want my, I want my, I want my DDO

As much as i defend SSG (or as some say: "whiteknight")

I suspect above verse is correct.

All this lag issue started with that unfortunate server transfer, and been steadily getting worse and worse.

You can't run MMORPG on bargain bin servers...

I thought it started when they made all the quests free and opened the hardcore server.

No, i'm pretty sure it started in 2006...

In my case it started being noticeable with that sever transfer, but for most time minor issues, nothing really hindering.

U45 hotfix (first one IIRC) introduced major changes in game performance, and it kept getting worse and worse. There are days I can't play at all, there are days that are nice, but then there are last few days that started to go from bad to unplayable longer I'm online...

It’s been an issue for years, and SSG devs’ official line up until recently has been to blame any encountered lag on the user’s internet connection, instead of where the blame truly lies, with their spaghetto code.

Lag has been a very prominent issue since Shadowfell.
Deathwyrm was awful, and firepeaks is still a lag fest.

This didn't start with the servers being changed. IMO there was no difference from that.

It will never get better before the game closes.
Maybe someday when someone digs up the source code, someone who is an engineer can look and tell the community what happened. ATM they don't give much details on the problems and they are very long standing.

In April 2018, Viktor Vekselberg, a Russian businessman and owner of portfolio company Renova Group, was sanctioned by the United States Department of the Treasury as part of an investigation on Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections.[26] Columbus Nova had previously identified itself as an affiliate of Renova Group, while Renova Group had listed Columbus Nova as part of its corporate structure.[27] Subsequently, it was believed that Columbus Nova, and consequently Daybreak, had also been affected by these sanctions.
