I like it so much I proposed to my wife in full plate at a Renaissance Festival. My reason for bringing this up is because lately, the heavy armor in the game looks to me like armor one might display, but wouldn't be caught dead wearing. They are shiny or brightly colored in blue and a pinkish red and I have a mirrored random armor covering almost every one I have to wear because, I hate them.

I was wondering if there is a slightly deranged dev with an affinity towards spikes, antlers, ridges and possible blood splatter that might design a few types of armor that might fit under the heading of scary, intimidating, feral or even terminal masculinity? I see my Dwarven fighter as well as my Horc and Dragonborn barbarians as the types that would lick their blades clean after a good battle. Giving their armor a good rinse only after buzzards started following, giving away their location, because of the smell. This is the narrative in my head about my warriors, a deranged dev might be somewhat of a kindred spirit, hence the request.

I understand that the Feywild might not be the pack for menacing, spiked armor or old school, heavy metal, pyrotechnics cool weapons. But bring on the cloaks that look like dragon wings or armor with ridges or vertebrae going down the center of the back soon, because thinking about unicorns and fairy dragons with their pretty colors and butterfly wings is really going to test my love for this game. While DDO goes to the fey, D&D goes to Avernus. I want to go there next please, I'd like to swim in the black blood of the earth, drink a potion that gives bonuses to my current buzz and defeat Lo Pan and the storms in HELLo Little China.

Thank you for reading, if it made a dev laugh or smile consider my armor request.

PS, My wife loves all the bright colors and looks forward to unicorns in the Feywild.

Can't agree with you here...the armor we're getting now is already too fantastical, with crazy ornate detailing, unnecessary accessories, exaggerated asymmetry....and the pauldrons...the PAULDRONS...!!!

We don't need our chars to look like they're going to a Raiders game. I'd like to see them with more actual medieval battlefield looks, less GWAR...

I think its fine on demons and devils, etc., just not on PCs.

On Eberron, dressed for a medieval battlefield, flying on a soarsled, wand in hand. hmm

The title - it made crazy in my head...

"I like heavy armor and cannot lie
Y'other Barbs and Pals can't deny
When that 'Forged walks by in her shiny adamant
And that docent, you just..."

(..well, you get the idea. Lol.)

And as you make the appearance of the PCs' heavy armor more realistic, please fix the appearance of the heavy armor worn by the female hirelings. Some of them look like they are wearing bikinis, not armor!!! Let's get a little more realistic here!

If anyone is unaware, OP is my hubby, and obviously our taste in armor/costuming is not the same. He would like his characters to resemble some variation of Thibbledorf Pwent or a medieval Punisher or post-murderous Conan, whereas my tastes run to something more similar to LotR elven-esque fantasy. Also dark, black, gray, and generically grim, are color schemes he prefers whereas I prefer pastels, especially periwinkle and pale violet. We're more alike than different but... yeah where we differ we're almost opposites.

Maybe we can both be pleasantly surprised with the Feywild expansion - there are after all Dark Fey as well as the lovely, whimsical kind.

I had some cosmetic armor I slapped on a female Asimaar... when the character needs to shave in order to wear "plate" without showing... needless to say I decided, because this was not something I'd want my family to see, the cosmetic was removed. I won't say someone else can't dress (or undress) their toon as they wish but plate mail g-strings are just a bit too unrealistic for fantasy combat games.

You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

Plaudits for some Wiki maintainers but, the last two posts nearly put me in fits of laughter. Thanks guys.
