What is your closest shave so far?

Mine: Level 1 barbarian with cleric healer, Collaborator elite. Boss fight. Cleric dies, I run up the passageway and get knocked unconscious. Getting mentally prepared to roll up another character, but Jacoby Drexelhand kind of looks around and walks back to his lair. At that point I already had Die Hard, so it was just a matter of 30 seconds or so before I got up. Did not even have to grab hireling's stone -- she just followed me to rez shrine.

Pugged R2 stealthy repo for lols, and while we didnt complete due to a triple reaper spawn near the room with the named kobold shaman, which we had to blast our way out of, no one died.

Current life went incap in r1 catacombs 7th quest while I was typing in chat & didnt see the spawns mobbing me, had a lucky save from party member.

Last try got hit real hard by the hidden chest trap in chamber of insanity, jogged memory real quick about there being 2 trap boxes ;) that toon died to lag lockup while being hit by a champ dot....

Last season my 5k favour WF paladin had 3hp left after getting hit by the traps in sacrifices on korthos - he almost died again in the Age of Rage end boss fight due to eyes.

Halls of Shan-to-Kor - was trapper and disabled the 2 boxes I've always disabled - someone in the party said I was missing a bunch so I went around looking and nearly died. I should know better than to get ordered around by pugs.

Second place was slave lord III nerals was aggro'd on me and hit like a ton of bricks. Luckly he goes down fast.

as for close shaves? inc. twice in same fight and still walked away...somehow.

Memory Lapse - While jumping up to whatever the next area was I got zapped full in the face by a Shocking Idea's electricity. I honestly thought I was dead, but then noticed I was at -8 hp. I dropped to -9 before the healer in the party was able to get to me and hit me with a cure something (about half a second before ticking down to -10). I think my heart is still racing and that was days ago.

Sometimes come out the other side alive.

One time in Shan To Kor pt 1 I lagged facing a kobold shaman. I was a L7 Artificer with a cleric Hireling and my Dog.
When the lag cleared the hire was dead, I was on 28 hp (had resist elec and pro from elec) and the Dog was growling like a proud little hero....

Really I find the lag this time out more abysmal... so I have changed my normal "jumping around to not get hit" to trying to position myself better....

STK part 3 with my Barbarian at lvl 6. Accidentally walked too close to that fire trap next to the ladder in the room with the water and bunch of levers. My friend noticed me about to get hit by it so he threw a potion. I got incapped, die harder triggered and I got hit with the thrown potion, and then the fire hit me again and knocked me down to 11hp. All of this happening in the span of about 2 seconds.

This happened today. I went to The Village teleport in The Cogs to run to Security Detail (I didn't have the Destroyed Forge teleport yet). As you probably know, at The Village there is a big chasm that is instant death if you fall into it. I'd already jumped over it fine a couple of times going to other quests so wasn't really bothered. But this time, I jumped into it, and as soon as I was beyond the point of no return...I realised I hadn't put my FF item on. Both my character and my heart plummeted. I immediately turned around and just about managed to land on the rocks against the wall at the bottom...and nearly slid off them when landing. Then I teleported out. Was shaken for a good 20 minutes afterwards.

Got kicked from game in an EE run of A Sharn Welcome a few days ago right at the boss fight, logged back in to a pretty unnerving sight...

Lag spike at the wrong place in the Menechtarun wilderness. Realized I was lag-locked, and logged out. After logging into another server, I went back to HC fully expecting a dead Alchemist. He was standing in Zawabi's with 3 hitpoints.

Yikes.

Got incapped by a Carnage Reaper in Castle Ravenloft, level 14. That res cake from Korthos saved my life! :eek:
