View Full Version : Negative Healing Spell Targeting not the same as positive

Positive heals will cast on the caster if nothing is targeted.

Negative heals (inflict/harm) will not cast at all if nothing is targeted. You literally click the button and nothing happens.

This doesn't make sense. All it does is punish an undead caster.

Please fix the negative spells so they act the same as positive ones.

Also the Luck of Olladra won't "heal you to full" like the description says if you are undead. Other "heal you to full" actions will work on undead, but not that one. An "immune" pops over your head and you aren't healed at all and you also suffer -10 to happiness.

Also, nullified on random loot gen refers to abjuration spell focus which doesn't make sense as well.

Also a lot of positive effects healing are also screwy when used on undead players, cleric positive energy burst doesn't seem to do anything at all but fvs wall of healing works just fine.

I think the harm/heal spell and the effect on 'undead' players needs to be reworked.

I think harm spells should be pulled from the list AND should just
be a different version of heal...call it the flip side of the coin.

If you can cast 'from memory' a healing spell and for whatever
reason/build and you are undead, it should AUTOMATICALLY turn
into the harm version. and while undead, it should auto target you for self heal
or to heal undead pets. It should basically be the undead version of healing.

and of course if the undead 'heal' is cast at something that is not undead, it will hurt them,
same as a healing spell will hurt an undead.

so harm / heal should be ONE spell, not two.

That'd be a huge nerf then because harm would scale 50% by spell power like heal, not 100% like it does now...

if you want the spell to work like a heal spell, then it will get
scaled like a heal spell. That is only fair to players that just use the heal type spell.

the current spell is likely scaled higher BECAUSE it is harder to use....

I'd really like to see an Eberron novel about an undead person being one of the "Good Ones". I mean, an undead inquisitive, for example ?

Now, Terry Pratchett kind of did this right. Not to mention Derek Landy.
