Please, let us earn the Bloody Footsteps during HCL2!

The group of players I run DDO with missed the first round of the HCL - and have since wanted the bloody footsteps quite badly.

So, while the rewards this time might please some other players, which I hope and think they will, they are not in the same manner our cup of tea.

I really think you should add a way to earn the HCL1 rewards this round as well - in particular the bloody footsteps.

If you do, we will be very likely to have a lot of fun while trying to get those purchasing various means of help from the store to better our chances. If you dont we will still play a bit on HCL2 but without spending anything and should one of us die we will very likely just abort as the lure simply wont be present for us.

I do not know how many people might feel the same way. I have seen some posts on the forum as well as heard some people talk about it on the HCL but I cannot say with any certainty if its just a few people or a more meaningful number.

I have mixed feelings whether it would be nice if the original season 1 hardcore league rewards were still available in later seasons.

it is sort of a badge of honor each season to have an exclusive cosmetic reward that indicates "I survived season I".
If they offered the same rewards and just added additional reward options or tiers, though, players may not feel compelled to join the hardcore season, knowing that it would be available later - there is a sense of urgency in having the rewards exclusive and available only in each season.

I personally would have liked another shot to get the season I reaper cloak but I never progressed anywhere in reaper xp in season I - it is a nice black color and looks intimidating. the people that spent the time and effort to earn that cloak in season I though wear it with pride.

this situation reminds me of the Menace of the Underdark pre-order exclusives that players missed or regret not getting, and are now unable to ever get the onyx panther companion. I actually really like pre-order exclusive incentives though, and would encourage SSG to do pre-order exclusives for the upcoming feywild expansion. but their current position is that pre-order exclusives generate bad feeling for those that missed out.

so it may be a similar feeling that people have towards hardcore league that missed out.

the way that the other mmorpg neverwinter handles rewards that are no longer available in later event seasons is to put those old season rewards into their store. but if ssg offered the bloody footsteps for sale in the ddo market, that would diminish the value of the rewards (if they could just be bought for $$). likewise making them available in later seasons would also diminish the prestige of those rewards, if they could be earned over the course of multiple hardcore seasons attempts.

I am a bit surprised they did not offer some variation of the bloody footsteps for season 2. At some point, they probably will - muddy or glowing footsteps.

Yes, please allow a chance at the eyes and the bloody footsteps again. I tend to play palemasters and would love the look.
