Hello all,
I've been away from DDO for roughly 4 years, maybe 3 1/2 years?
I think I last played sometime near the release of sentient weapons.
I was wondering if anyone would care to take the time to let me know what I've missed?
I've seen people talking about 2hf, Pallys, and Rangers all being changed, but I dont know the specifics.
Thank you for any help with getting caught up!

Wiki has all the updates and welcome back! Sentient was Ravenloft so main changes were Sharn expansion and some older modules brought to virtual life (White Plume Mountain, Keep on the Borderlands). And Mounts! great for getting around fast in public areas and wildernesses.

I can give you the TL;DR version that's almost entirely based on forum hearsay!
- THF no longer grants Glancing Blows, which folks were complaining were basically worthless in reaper as they didn't scale under some of the same mechanics as normal attacks (doublestrike, crit profile). Instead, there's *jazz hands* Strikethrough */jazz hands* which is exactly what it sounds like: you have a chance to hit another nearby enemy (or two, or three). Anything that previously granted bonuses to glancing blows (THF feats, various enhancement lines) now buffs Strikethrough instead.
- THF also got a boost to its damage modifier: if you have the first THF feat, instead of 1.5x damage bonus from stat modifier (eg, +30 damage if you have a+20 mod), you now get 3x damage bonus from the stat modifier (eg, +60 damage if you have a +20 mod). People are generally excited about this, AFAIK
- Paladins' KOTC tree was updated! Anecdotally, I now see KOTC pallies running around and they seem to be fairly comparable to Barbarians / Fighters
- Divine Might got removed. Paladins and Clerics have the FvS ability "Divine Grace", FvS has that and Divine Will in a multiselector. Its boost has been changed to "insightful damage, accuracy, tactical DCs" which generally has folks ticked off because they have to redo their gear tetris to account for diminishing returns of these stats. This change also been made to the Falconry and Harper versions
- Tempest rangers have been OP for a while and the devs decided to tone it down a bit, amidst enormous outcry. Dance of Death now hits one fewer target, works via Strikethrough (despite that usually being a THF thing), doesn't require hitting a target to activate but does have a slightly longer cooldown than uptime
- Spring Attack now gives a charge - think Dire Charge but without the stun bit. The cooldown is 20s, which has some folks annoyed and is good enough for others. Also apparently Whirlwind Attack is fixed for weapons...?
That was my TL;DR...? Ok, fine; TL;DR the TL;DR. If I need to do another round, I'm resorting to emoji:
- THF = (Strikethrough = better glancing blows = yay!) + bigger stat mod (yay!!)
- KOTC = mostly yay, though Divine Grace = mixed reception
- Tempest = ABOUT TIME, COGS-DARNIT. Can you tell I don't play one?
- Spring Attack = HUZZAH, and anyone who says otherwise is a dingus
