1. Enable 64-bit client. Sound Playback (under Options -> Audio) works fine using the same values as the 32bit client.
2. Reboot system. Sound Playback no longer has values of the 32bit client. The only dropdown option is "none".
Once it gets into this state, I have not found a way for the 64bit client Sound Playback to work again.
Sound Playback works fine going back to the 32bit client.
Voice Playback Device and Voice Capture Device work fine in 64bit.

I've had this happen a few times. The device string seems to change for whatever reason and is not picked up again after.
You need to go into your UserPreferences.ini under documents folder and find the [Sound] section. Under here there is a value 'SoundFeatures'
for example, here is mine: SoundFeatures=SAMSUNG (NVIDIA High Definition Audio)
This becomes blank, as in - SoundFeatures=
Find what is usually there. From the 32 bit ini or such and paste it back in. Or you can delete the value and it should be re-added and re-detected.

I'm having the same sound issue, and this work around doesn't work for me. Loading and closing the 64-bit client automatically sets SoundFeatures=none. Changing the ini while the game is running does nothing. The only thing I've found that works is to reload the game over and over, and about 20% of the time it detects 'SoundFeatures' properly. Back on 32-bit for now...

SSG pls look into this
i'm having the same issue!
Only workaround is to reload the game, which is annoying because of scenarios like the following: Today i had to reload the game 3 times in a row trying to fix it, on the 2nd relog i happened to get stuck on a loading screen so had to relog again... with the lags going on having to relog constantly is infuriating!

I get sound to work most of the time, a close and reopen seems to find it again. But then I have another sound problem, it cuts out. Especially in a big fight with lots of players and mobs, the sounds will just not play, some of them do, but not all of them. For example, repeater sounds will stop like you are out of ammo, but the animation is still going, damage is still going on, etc.
It's as if the 64 bit client cannot play all the sounds at the same time like the 32 bit client can?
