You added a bunch of traditional paladin style weapons to the KotC tree to make them favored weapons but forgot to add bastard swords. Was this intentional or an oversight?

Adding Bastard swords to the favored weapon list at the Greatsword tier in KotC would be the best answer here. IMO

This was intentional. There may be a way to add Bastard Sword as a Favored Weapon outside of the Helm deity in the future, but not with the U45 changes.

Ok, now you are just teasing us. Is that more of a, "We have plans, but they weren't ready to go live in U45", or is it, "We did not want to do that at this time, but are open to it at a later date" kinda thing?

Grrr... Oh well, at least it is being considered.
On a side note... T5 Censure demons and Core 6 Champion of Good are not adding ranged power.

And/or at least letting Dwarves make Daxe a favored weapon with the T4 Dwarven racial enhancement so there was *some* option for H&aH Paladins, considering the only builds that can follow Helm are Iconics that cant be pure Paladin.
It does seem like a glaring need considering Pal is already aligned with shield use. Its not so glaring that it has to be part of U45 or the Pal update is incomplete, but it definitely should be on the short list for the next few updates. Especially since it requires an Exotic feat anyway.
Also, some way to favor Khopesh maybe too. Add it to Vulkoor, and include the prof? KotC already get KT free after all. Khopesh could use a little more love since KT has largely replaced them with Longswords; only Warpriest right now has any inherent synergy with building for Khopesh (since they get the prof free), but Bsword is likely to edge that out now too with the THF improvements. Vulkoor seems like they'd use Khopeshes, too - the best khop is named after scorpions, even, after all :)

I mentioned this during the feedback timeframe. it doesn't really make sense to have a sword and board pally using a 1.5 weapon and not get access to all the new benefits you added. They are the primary consumer of using a 1.5 weapon with a shield, now they have to make a choice of sweet buff when hitting undead and outsiders, or no strikethough after spending 3-4 feats on it and 1 on an exotic weapon. There is a very feat heavy build to being with, please consider just making the feat also cause Bastard Sword or Dwarven Axe to be added to Favored Weapons.
Edit: Other idea
Put it in Holy Sword, so any weapon is automatically considered a deity favored weapon. As a bonus, it requires Paladin 14 or Cleric 14 with a domain (and a little fun for a cleric build). Has a roleplay element to it as well. Reconsider applying the buff to shields as well.

Decisions you guys make just seem to make no sense to me. You create one of the best (if not the best) weapons for a pure paladin (Divinity, the Morninglord's Goal) yet players cannot use their full power, because you cannot make a pure paladin that can choose Helm deity (unless you buy +1 Heart in the store).
I just don't understand this.
Not to mention that if you want to make most of bastard swords you have to make a heavy investment in THF feats (4 total + 1 proficiency!), so it's not for everyone.

I agree.
Bastard sword, Scimitar, Khopesh, Sickle, Pick, Maces, Morningstar (Humans, Half humans)
and Dwarven axe, Warhammer, Heavy picks, blunt throwers (for Dwarves)
All THF related weapons including exotics Half orc (Piercing one is still missing)
Light but better critical threat range weapons, small blades, ligth blunts, throwing weapons for Halfling
Scimitar, Sickle, Quarterstaff, Small blades, Bows Drow
... and the similar.
This approach would blend racial and deity based lore. :D
The only weapon I would say please no would be Crossbow family...The reasoning is out in the open !

I made a few suggestions in a closed thread in Lama regarding favoured weapons, just thought I'd post them here since it is relevant to the OP:
- Bastard Sword could be added to tier 4 'The Book of War' list of favoured weapons. This would add more racial flexibility to using bastard swords with pallies (currently locked behind Iconic races as a favoured weapon: I would love to have a clear list somewhere of which races are considered 'Eberron races' for the purposes of deity's favoured weapons, can;t find this in DDO Wiki). Would it be too unbalancing to add Dwarven Axes and shields here too?
- Perhaps Tier 4 'Celestial tutelage' could, apart from granting proficiency with bastard words OR tower shields, also make each of those options count as favoured weapons? This would be similar to what Dwarves are able to achieve in their top tier racial trees (and more flexibility for adding favoured weapon types).
on a similar note
- Shields could be added to KoTC Adept Combatant list, so they become favoured weapons. This would create synergy with vanguard and make KoTC even more friendly to other combat styles.
