First kudos to devs for attempting working on making the bank more easily searchable.
1. The search limiting items to a specific level range does not seem to work. I requested items of levels 1-3 but 137 of 139 items in the bank appeared. Many of the items of epic level. I would consider possibly the program only looked at the first character of the level but I also had items of levels 4, 5, and 7 appear in the list.
2. Sorting on most recently added, may have worked, it did have the items I added today at the top, I have no idea of the order of the other items so I will assume in correct order.
3. Sorting by item name [A-Z] seems to sort first by item type, then name. The sort by name is questionable. It uses the full information as presented in the listing. There is definitely a sort sequence and from my bank the "+" is the lowest character, so +2 items come before +3 comes before +4, ... Then I am finding numbers next so if you have 100 Thieves Tools, that comes before 18 (10 before 18) Arrows, that come before 2 potions of Aid, ... Finally once you get past special characters and numbers, the sort is as I would expect with Alluring before Bell before Chimera before ...
Sorting by item name [Z-A] works in reverse.
4. I displaying information by slot has me completely confused. I did not test any of the cosmetic options (not on character I was testing with, nor quivers (ditto). I finally got tired running up and down the pages looking for items that were missing, so if I say at least 2, it is because I only found one and found at least one other.
Slot: Wrists - 1 of at least 2 appeared. Mystic Wrappings did not appear.
Slot: Feet - the 1 of 2 pair of boots in the bank appeared. Visionary's 12 Boots of Sonic Guard +3 did not appear.
Slot: Hands - the 1 (Dexterous +2 Glove) of 4 sets of gloves in the bank appeared. Charged Gauntlets, Feather Falling Gloves, and Blurfingered Gloves did not appear.
Slot: Rings - of the 139 items in my bank, 117 appeared. I have potions, elixirs, gloves, runestones, cakes, wands, rings, some of the weapons, ... I think maybe some of everything except runearms (I have only one in the bank).
Slot: Belt - 1 of 1 belt appeared.
Slot: Cloak - 1 of 3 appeared.
Slot: Trinket - 2 of 2 appeared.
Slot: Neck - 2 of at least 3 appeared
Slot: Head - 1 of at least 2 appeared.
Slot: Eyes - 2 of of at least 3 appeared.
Slot: Armor - 1 of 1 appeared. Quicksilver Cassock (robe) and Robe of Winter did not appear.
Slot: Shield - 1 of 1 appeared.
Slot: Weapon - No weapons appeared. 2 scrolls (sunburst and iceberg) and wand of secret door detection appeared.
5. While I appreciate the attempt to make finding items in the shared bank easier, I really wish the work had been done on the TR bank. Many of us have TRed many times and have characters with 160 inventory slots, 15 equipped slots, and 100 personal bank slots. That can yield up to 275 items, that appear any which way in the TR bank. I have even tried sorting the items on my character on in the personal bank before TR and they are still scrambled.

Found that the level range search does not work within 30 seconds of logging in.
Really guys! Good job trying to add this but testing team.....hmmm, not so much!

Fiddled a bit and figured it out:
you need to take everything out, and put it back in.
I'm guessing the indexing only applies on items when they enter the bank. Thus, the reason why this didn't come up in Lam land testing, was that there were no existing items in shared banks, only new items!
Took me under 15 min to churn everything out and back in. Would be nice if the devs deployed a script to do it automatically though, and/or put out a PSA about what needs to be done to fix this.

We are investigating an issue where the Shared Account bank is not properly reindexing. In the meantime, players can work around this themselves by dragging out and then back in the items in their shared bank, which will cause it to display properly in new search results.

Actually none of it works.
The level range only displays items if you put it level 1 to <n>. Anything above 1 in the first box stops anything from appearing. Also from what I can see none of the item type filters work at all.
EDIT - nevermind just saw workaround above...!

For now the workaround works fine.
I wonder if a "None" slot filter could be added to the list to let us see just potions and stuff?

Take 250 items out and put them in again....?
I'll wait for you to fix it.

Mine has 170. Took me 5 mins tops.
I just cleared one toon's 20 bank slots and put 20 in there, then back in the bank. Repeat till done.

Yes, you are welcome to do this. Hopefully we'll get it sorted for the next game update.

Although this is a step in the right direction, even with the first attempt glitches like the indexing, it didn't go far enough. Text search only looks in the name and will not find attributes like speed, insightful, augments since they are not listed in the name. It will also not find attributes in named items such as Keen on the Bejeweled Letter Opener or Deathblock on Deathwarden.
You took a great step forward, many years to late, stumbled and then didn't take it far enough. Not to mention not being able to apply the same search to the TR bank.

I'll go ahead while my new client is loading and paraphrase what Condovan has been quoted as saying in the past (though he's put it slightly less bluntly): the TR cache was never intended to be some kind of surrogate cache of extra bank space and therefore the devs have no intention of making this area more convenient to use in any way, shape, or form.
[Of course that was when we didn't have tons of epic gear targeted for certain classes that we didn't dare get rid of. And now more classes. And more gear. So... yeah...]

Can no longer bank Flame Arrow bolts?
When I have left over ones I put them in the bank to save time.
Next time I log in I don't have to conjure them up.
Now I can't even put the bolts in character bank.
Why?

Even though I realize this will probably have 0 effect, I would very much add that adding some sorting/searching for TR cache would be quite possibly the best QOL improvement I can think of. GIven the amount of gear, the amount of lives and the speed at which things can be taken out it would be incredible to be able to search through it. Also I'd bet that fewer people would have completely full caches if they could search and clean them as they level, efficiently.
Just my 2 cents,
Rawel

Then would it be possible to let us buy more bank slots and make the bank work similarly to the shared bank in terms of searching? Shared bank is nice, but handling all the BtC gear during TRs is a pain.
Maybe even create some multi-life storage that would work like shared bank, but for the 1 character only and without going to TR cache on reincarnation, making it possible to store BtC stuff and freeing us from the pains of reinc. cache.

I assume that one of the longest and riskiest part of a new update release is database update. Reindexing all the various shared banks ... that's some churn and is the sort of thing that I've seen blow out database buffer/logging/workspace, thus requiring a restore, reconfigure, and try again. As someone else posted, it was quite easy and quick to unload and reload the bank ourselves. No, we shouldn't have to, but this isn't a huge deal.
Doing something akin to an object oriented lazy initialization on an account shared bank when it is first accessed after an update and re-indexing then would be an acceptable compromise to this customer. You could spread out the work instead of trying to fit it into the downtime window.
Regardless, thanks for the great work on QOL issues. I left in spring of 2013 (pre SSG days IIRC) over them and some extended downtime but I must say that since I've come back I've noticed the improvements the team has made. Good job.

Pretty sure the intention was to reindex it all, but for whatever reason it didn't operate correctly. Thankfully, while it can be a pain to manually swap your items in and out of the Shared Bank, it can be done relatively quickly, and we'll get a fix in soon.

Can you also make the sort order survive a logon? It remembers your order while in game, but reverts to "most recent" every time you login in.
