Ratcatcher nerf to the nerf

From the release notes: Ratcatcher now has a critical profile of 18-20/x3 (down from 17-20/x3).

The profile is 19-20/x3 and not as stated in the release notes.

Are you sure you're looking at both the tooltip, and the drop-down bottom of your inventory?

One displays anomalous range, the other displays anomalous multiplier - take the best of both as your actual value :)

Probably a display bug, crit threatrange & multipliers have been showing up wrong for years. As droid said you need to look both at the examine window of the weapon itself, AND the dropdown below the inventory.

Or who knows maybe they did screw up ratcatcher, haven't been in game to test it.

Yeah, who cares about crit profiles. Doing more damage is overrated.

Ratcatcher went from 17-20/x3 to 19-20/x3, compared to 19-20/x2 base light crossbow (0/+1), was (+2/+1 crit profile).

Nightforge Spike is 18-20/x3 (+2/+1) after nerf (was +4/+1), compared to 20/x2 base dart, is way easier to acquire, and has a better mod (adamantine vs vermin bane).


Basically they nerfed Ratcatcher down to almost normal, and nerfed Nightforge spike down to prenerf Ratcatcher level.

The fuss is about SSG not doing what they said they were going to do mate. They said one thing and did another. And I'm currently lvl 12, a whole 3 levels away from my banked Nightshade Shooter and I've already had enough of a nerf to care about not taking another undocumented one.

I’m not, I’m comparing the crit profile increase over baseline of 2 named weapons, relevant given they’re being nerfed at the same time for supposedly the same reason.

Where do I thank SSG for systematically trying to ruin this game?

Retroactive nerfing my items from years ago. A Ratcatcher from years back I have had, really? Why has it been in the game for years if it is too good? Maybe Dev's should think about how items/weapons will effect game beforehand.

I already have players in my Guild quitting this game. Not even 24 hours after update. People don't like all their hours and hours of grinding, months and months of playtime to get a build where they want it, negated. Thanks again SSG. Wow and we thought Turbine was bad after the Menance of the Underdark update. Lost many players back then also. ***?
