View Full Version : Midwinter Eveningstar Event - How to get Glaciation 30 recipe?

Is there a number of snowflakes I should hit to get the glaciation 30 recipe?
One NPC said i needed to hit lower snowflake scores to get the lower rewards. Does anyone know what exact snowflake score gives the highest chance of getting the glaciation 30?

Since the Event tickets are 3 per day and bound to character, I only have a limited number of tries before I have to pay 20 DDO points for a ticket, so I wanted to at least get myself 1 armor of glaciation.

Thanks

IIRC all the recipes are unbound so can be traded on the AH so check there. What server are you on?

Turning in 3 White coins gives you a shot at getting Recipe 1,3,6,7,8 or 16. As there's an even split you have a 16% chance of getting the specific one you want.

If your on Orien then post your character name and I send you a few.

She's talking about the Eveningstar Midwinter races not Risia coins.

OP there isn't exactly a specific score that will get you exactly the recipe you want. What happens is if your score is low enough you get the lowest level recipes but its random whether you get glaciation, fire res, or cold res or whatever. Then as your score enters higher levels you could still get some of the lowest ones or the next upgrade. The problem is you have to intentionally handicap yourself to get the beginning recipes and the lowest amount of motes just so you can add any recipe at all to your gear.

That will teach me to skim read :)

apologies to the OP

the offer for the recipe card is still there though :)

EDIT: no it isn't apparently I AH'd/chucked all the Midwinter ones last year. Grrrrr

As Garix notes, (but to further clarify) you can get started in the Stormreach Harbor with recipe 6 that adds 30 glaciation, and potentially keep going up to Glac 78 with the numbered harbor recipes, and then go onwards and upwards in Eveningstar. EDIT: TESTED AND DOESN'T WORK

It's hard to control the mote scores precisely, and I'm not convinced that it does much good anyhow. But I'm reasonably sure that you can mix and match the harbor numbered series recipes series with the Eveningstar Midwinter ones.

(Edit: ninja'd by Aelonwy who did way better than me on how the mote scores work)

Huh I've never heard that before. If true that's actually really nice.

Hmm, maybe I oughta test that before spouting off. Years back that was the original plan, I understand.

Edit: Boo, I'm wrong, Harbor stuff only goes on weapons and Eveningstar stuff only goes on clothing and shields. There's a quote from FeatherOfSun clarifying this on the wiki page for the Midwinter Festival.

Darkniteyogi: Garix's plan of announcing what server you're on might still work.

The wiki shows between 24 and 370. It doesn't have many entries though, likely it's 1 through 370 or so.

Hey guys, Thanks for the replies.

Looks like i'm not the only one who wants to get their hands on these. As of now they can be attached to Cosmetic Armor (Not from Mirror of Glamering though). This has also been mentioned to not be Working As Intended, at may be removed. But as it is, it is a + equipment bonus from a free slot to glaciation, so this is pretty useful since its on a free slot.

Trouble is, you need to get a Glaciation 30 to further upgrade it. There is a lot on the AH and Shard House for higher tier Glaciations for about 5 to 10 shards a recipe. But the 30 glaciation is in low supply.

I am in Sarlona, so I can't take your offer, Garix. Thanks though!
