I was looking through set bonuses to see if I can squeeze in some more crit chance with another set or if there are any other bonuses I'm missing out on and I noticed that Elder's Cap and Elder's Focus from the Red Fens together give +2% spell crit chance and +0.5 spell crit damage. It means giving up both head and neck, but I have enough bonuses duplicated in other places that I actually could give up head and neck potentially.

Spell crit damage +50% is what I'm especially looking at here. Shroud Fire crit damage bonus is exciting and we're spending a gear slot for an extra 35% crit damage. Greater Elder's Knowledge is 2 slots for 50% extra spell crit damage and we can have the Shroud item in addition to that.

Can anyone confirm whether these are untyped bonuses or what type of bonus they are since the bonus type isn't listed on the item?

ML 20 means nice for Epic past lives, but 50% extra spell crit damage might even be worthwhile for level 30 depending on what you're giving up from Head/Neck.

According to 46.1 patch notes "The Greater Elder's Knowledge set bonus now fuctions again and is, "This item set will grant your acid, fire, electric and cold spells a +6% chance to critical hit, and those spells have an additional 10% spell critical damage." so I believe it never worked.

Im not an expert but after changes it might be good for mid and low epics.

It hasn't worked in years, but it did originally work, prior to the changes to how spell crits worked.
