Start with the basics:
Can you hear sound in any other game or setting?
1. If you can, then check the DDO audio settings again - including - the little volume bar for each player (make sure they are MAXXED).
2. If not:
a. Check your volume control on your headset / mic. I have found it gets turned accidentally sometimes and you have to turn it back up to get the sound to a level you can hear.
b. Check your windows "mute" - the little soundbar at the bottom right. You can open your sound settings from there as well.
It might be helpful to know what OS and computer you have if these basics don't get you back up and running.

Checklist:
Make sure that voice chat is enabled.

Make sure that Voice Volume and Default Group Volume are maxed, and Voice Playback Device is set to the correct device.
If you can hear game sounds just fine, make sure this device is the same as the device selected under Sound Playback, found at the top of Image 1
If Voice Playback Device is already set to the correct device, set it to something else and then back to the original

Same thing happened to me once - it just bugs out. Not common, but it happens.
I'd be it's the very last suggestion that Clemeit makes, above. Turn OFF (or change) those options. Then close the game. Then open it again and turn them back ON. That did it for me when I had the same symptoms, just had to wake the software up.

HI thanks for the feedback guys. I have tried all of these things to no avail. I am not currently using a headset, just the F key to talk.
So, I can hear everything except other players, but they can hear me when I talk by pressing F. I tried changing the settings, and adjusting the volumes, but all I see is the green bar flash when people are talking and I cant hear them at all.
I am on windows 10.
Thanks again!

NicoThis may sound strange but are your speakers / earphones USB? If so try changing their balance so that 100% sound is coming out one side and 0% on the other. See if that perks the speakers up at all.
Also make sure that your voice playback device is the same as your main sound device since you aren't using headphones, in fact I would x2 check that first.

Ok, that is making me think. I used to play with only the laptop, but recently bought a new monitor, which seems to have speakers built in. I am connected by an HDMI. I messed with the settings so it is not coming through the monitor, and only through the laptop. I wonder if something is just fudged up with that. I don't have external speakers.
