A bit of a wall of text incoming.

We have Heroic levels with a TR option, we have Epic levels with a TR option, now on to Legendary levels probably with an eventual TR Option.

(This is all a big guess)

It won't affect people who already have max or close to max past lives, those people will still have all of that. It will add a new dimension to explore with those maxed out characters. After all, once you have every past life, and every piece of gear you want on your maxed out character what do you do with it? Park it and make an alt? nah, too much time spent on your main. Say I won DDO and log off until the next update comes along with new shinies? That's what a lot of people do, so many friends gone for years because they got bored, only to come back for as long as it takes to get all the new gear and leave again. Or we have a new option, have fun with hardcore and when it's time to go back to your home server get bored again, logoff, and wait for the next hardcore season to roll around.

With Legendary levels, we have already seen a part of this at level 30 with legendary feats, you take your maxed out character and see how much further you can take it.

I suspect what will happen is these legendary levels will progress similarly to Epic levels. 31-40, 41-50 who knows.

Level 31-40 would probably take an exorbitant amount of exp, but you could gain a certain amount of legendary xp from all quests, say a 30% equivalent in legendary xp of the base xp of the quest starting at level 1, of course you will get full legendary xp from legendary quests post 30. If your still on the TR train because you need 10 more or 100 more past lives you would still be adding to your legendary xp amount.

Currently you cannot access sphere abilities or epic feats in the heroic levels as this would break heroic, on the same note, you wouldn't get access to your legendary feats or spheres (if it progresses that way) in epic, since that would also break Epic quests that already exist. What you would take away on the passive side while leveling Heroic or Epic would be a legendary version of what we can get now with past lives.

As far as gear is concerned, so you have all of the newest shinies, now what? If your post level 30 and doing legendary quests you want gear to match? no problem, but any gear you earn post 30 is going to have a legendary level restriction on it.

We have Barovia and Sharn gear now, which is pretty top notch, a good starting point to take on the challenge of level 30 and beyond.

In Pen and paper, if your stepping into the legendary realm your going to want the most powerful stuff you can get to take on that evil demigod, or that horde of extra-planar creatures that want nothing but to make your home-plane it's next conquest. Fortunately when you step into that realm, you have already farmed up the best stuff you can get from the aforementioned places and may not just be a roadside snack while your exploring these new places looking for better gear to help you survive.

If the level cap increase is implemented in any way close to this it will not invalidate, or make heroic/epic TR's more difficult. But it will give some breathing room and a new sense of exploration to everyone that doesn't want to stay at level 30 indefinitely.

I think we all know that they’ll add Legendary Past Lives when they add the new Legendary XP.

Legendary Ottos Boxes soon to follow...

...and those Legendary Past lives will add stacking benefits that are active and adding to power creep right from level
