I believe one of the constraints that I have read about Iconics is that they have to be a base class that is FTP.

I wonder if SSG could make it so that a new type of Iconic would be made where it doesn't have that constraint, and when you purchase it, you then purchase that class. So, it might be a premium way to buy that class (costs around an Iconic + a Class), but would allow for Iconic2.0 perhaps.

I absolutely love the idea of Iconics that have FvS, Warlock and Artificer!!! I think that would be fantastic!

Also, as an aside, think it would be a cool idea for a future Hard Core Season to have to play an Iconic and to have to get from 15-30. Heh.

Happy gaming!

I'd say once the full set of F2P-class Iconics are finished (and it's like 2 left IIRC) that's the logical next step. Since they seem to release one ~every 2 years, it seems reasonable to estimate Iconics 2.0 in 5ish years.

One thing I liked in HCL is that iconics
started at lvl 1.

as odd as that sounded, it was fun running an
iconic race from lvl1 and I would hope they would add
that option at the character creation on regular servers.

Start at level 1 or 15 your choice.

I concur, it would be nice to be able to start my Completionist as a level one (1) so I could actually enjoy the low-level content. Starting at the mandatory level 15 does tend to take away the fun of the lower level fun of the game....

If one has taken the time to perform the requsit 3 TR's of a ICONIC race, why couldn't I then be able to do a TR without the loss of fun for the lower levels.

There is no reason you cannot start an Iconic at level 1.
Just tell whoever the trainer is, you want to choose another trainer and off you go.
Level 1 and you can level when you want as you complete the quests you want to play.
All the way to 15, nothing is stopping you from doing this other than you.

Totaly wrong as there are only 4 classes that are FTP being Dwarf, Elf, Halfling and Human

Maybe they are thinking of Pen and Paper D&D Basic where your race was your class (usually a mix of two predefined classes) except for Human (later Half-Elf) where you were able to pick a class

The next Iconic we will see will be a shifter barbarian.

I think ThomasHunter is referring to the fact that the Iconic character is forced into a class at level 1, so it needs to be a class that you own (i.e. F2P) or it will cause problems. I don't even know what MistaMagic is referring to. :)

only barb and sorc remain, one will be covered with next expansion and the last one i have the feeling it will be a dragonborn iconic.

also have a feeling that then fvs will become f2p and we will get another iconic if needed, or maybe we won't, some new system lvl 30-40 will keep us busy.

Well FvS and Arti would be the two to be test-cases for a system where you have to own the base class to be able to play the iconic, since they're both unlockable in-game...

Thats how I foresee it working once they run through the F2P classes. Not bundled together, but just prerequisite - like how you cant buy Shared Storage spaces until you buy Shared Storage. That'd keep value in the unlocks, or the existing bundles like getting Druid with MotU.

Or just .. this iconic is able to access the specific pay class, since you got the iconic. It's not difficult. Take as many levels in whatever it starts as paid class, during the iconic life. If you reincarnate into *not this iconic* then you are back to the normal requirement for class access ... pay or don't play.
