I'm looking to create an alt for the sole purpose of running The Fall of Truth on Epic Elite.

(I've wanted an item in there for a while. My resolve is final!)

I'm sure I'll be able to muster a guildie or two for most runs, but I would like to be able to solo it as a minimum. I'm thinking I need something with reasonable damage, speed, self-healing, saves, and tankiness. My first thought was a shuri thrower, but I'm not sure how first-life friendly this would be. Any thoughts or suggestions?

(And for any developers dropping by: lots of folk would appreciate the 20th-completion counter to persist through TRs! Or better yet, runes for past raids!)

Thank you - developers and players - in advance.

Ranged builds getting nerfed so hang on for a bit before planning

Anyway get that ring out of Lost at Sea for the build for electrical resist and absorption

Flickering steel, a good idea! Planning to level a bit of draconic for energy sheathe too.

As for waiting for the ranged nerf... will do. I'm optimistic that the rest of ranged builds won't suffer due to an inquisitive re-balancing, but we'll see.

IPS is nerfed; you use it a lot in that quest although the buff to single target might actually work in its favor since you are nailing down just a couple of them. However IPS made that easier with the trash mobs mulling in your face

IDK it may even be a good quest for magic missile shiradi build

Ooh, I'm unfamiliar. Can you tell me more about the shiradi build?

You can use a Shield Deflecting FvS type of build that is spec'd into Angel of Vengeance (for free SP on crit and bonus Light Damage so fights don't take too long) and Beacon of Hope (for cheap healing) running in Unyielding Sentinel (for Knockdown Immunity, more HP and more cheap healing). I used the precursor version to that and was able to (very slowly) Solo Fall of Truth without much issue. The main thing is to have a Con-Op type of item available to help restore SP as you shield block and DoT (and use your Lantern Archon to shoot stuff as well) to do damage needed on the pairs as you go through them. If you use this way, the best way to deal with the three disciples return is to simply kill them again, and it's fairly simple and quick now they're not paired up. Then tackle Stormreaver and Truthful One one their own.

Although I'll admit that the Solo method, especially on Elite, is tediously long if you want to play it safe. You might get better luck, especially with item drops that people may not need, forming a group instead. If only after an item, you may want to consider Hard instead for Solo, since it's much quicker to complete compared to Elite and less chance of failure for making a mistake along the way. I was previously looking at around 12-16 minutes for a solo Normal run, 22-29 minutes for a Hard run on average, and the few Elite solo runs were well in excess of 40 minutes (as dps was so low in order to maximise healing and survivability back then). This likely will be lower these days but difference shouldn't be that great. There'll be a moderate bump for Hard, and a very notiable bump of enemy HP (and hence, completion time) once you go Elite. So again, forming a group for much faster runs may be more fruitful if after an item.
