I recently returned to the game and gotten back up to the epic levels.
I've noticed I am getting crippled by archers a dozen times or more every quest. It's madness. I don't ever remember it being a problem.
Did they make a change while I was away (3yrs) that would effect this?
Apart from blur/ displace is there a way to mitigate this? Its especially annoying when I get crippled mid air whilst making a jump that I then fall short of.
From Wiki "Some monsters can make you crippled (e.g. ...)"
Seems like every dungeon has a mob type that can do this.

Ya its annoying esp when u just want to pull a valve or open a door n take 0 dmg and the concentration skill won't do anything
6 points in the vkf tree has deflect arrows that could help

Armour Class and Dodge can mitigate you from taking hits. Deflect Arrows feat/enhancement can also help.

Ah ok so it's not something a can save against. Thought i might be able to look down that route.
Can't really improve my AC at the moment until I start farming for legendary gear.
I'll have a look at deflect arrows, though not sure if i can spare the feat now. might just have to suffer. Sorry, can you just clarify vkf?
Thanks for the help/ sympathy.

Is there even a save from crippling or is it just random from mobs? I would think higher reflex would help you, but its DDO.

Vistani knife fighter universal tree you can unlock it with ravenloft favor
EK arcane spell caster trees sorc and wiz also have deflect arrows in the cores
People saying circle strafing + ranged combat = win button, should be lobbing to keep this kind of stuff in the game. Melee wants to be next to the mob anyhow, so the archetypes this counters most is those who d not need to stay within hit-box range of the mob to do their damage.

I'm playing an aura blast warlock. left over from before I took a break.
The problem isn't during close range combat or from me pinging from far away. It's usuall a shot from miles away while I'm trying to jump a gap or hit a lever that it is annoying. During combat it's fine.
I'm not lobbying to get it removed. I would just like to be able to mitigate it a bit. I am seriously hit with it waaaay to much.

Worst part is that there is no way to remove crippling/hamstring other than wait it out. (seriously, if someone knows how to remove it, PLEASE tell me)
Both Harper pins do nothing, FoM is useless.
And unlike severe hamstring, there is no save against it, so if you get hit by mob that can apply it, you get that debuff.
One of my toons is Great axe barb, and his biggest weakness is cripple/hamstring.

Movement penalty while trying to jump a gap sounds like DM trolling from a tabletop session. :p
You roll a high number, add it to your jump score, and celebrate it knowing you probably easily made the jump.
DM informs you a trap goes off, (rolls) hits your AC, applies damage and also applies the movement penalty, re-does the math for the distance using the new penalized movement/round and informs the players you came up short...
