Hi there,

I recently hooked up my MSI gaming laptop to a 24 inch monitor and I noticed that almost immediately, there is lag input lag and that when I move my toon left or right, it seems to be a split second slow. Its actually really bad as it is giving me a headache...I move left on the keyboard and in my mind, it should move the camera left, but it takes longer than it should, and has become unplayable.

Does anybody know what this is and can it be fixed through the settings?

edit: my wife says the monitor is like 7 years old, so its probably the cheapest 24 they had.

Thanks for the help!
Nico

Hey niko,

First of all, how is your laptop connected to the internet? By wifi to your router by any chance?
Is there any delay in the signal from hour laptop o the ddo server

Double check if your monitor is the issue, use something like a movie to see if the sound is of the mark with whats on screen.

Check if other 3D games cause this kind of lag.

Check your connection status in ddo and post it here, there is some ingame keystroke combo that someone wil post or find it in your ddo options menu.

Goodluck!

Thanks for the response. Basically, i have zero lag at all if i play through the laptop without it being connected to the external monitor. When i plug in the monitor cable, which btw is half hdmi (to the laptop) and DVI to monitor (due to the monitor not having hdmi), i immediately see a lag whenever i hit a keystroke on my laptop. It has to either be the monitor or the cable i think. Its like i am playing real time, but each keystroke has a slight delay (especially the camera)

Does this info help?
Thanks again!
