First off, "New Years Gifts" are not a thing :)

Second, Producer Letter probably wont be out till around the Anniversary in a few months

Third, we already know KotC has an imminent update coming for Pals

The last Producer's Letter came out last March and was only a few short sentences long.

The new Producer's Letter likely won't be come out any earlier (on the contrary, it seems like it comes out later and later as the years go by so maybe this new one will come out in April) nor will it likely be any more informative. What will likely be included, won't be anywhere CLOSE to the amount of information you'd like to see.

In short, don't get your hopes up.

Counterpoint - the last few tree updates have been pretty good. Warpriest/Soul was meh, but EK and PM have really turned those builds around, and Inqui obviously is immensely useful. I think they've earned a measure of good faith about KotC until proven otherwise.

I'm hoping for 3 new adventure packs, one of them being Isle of Dread. Paladin enhancement aid. Maybe a Paladin feat giving them their mount. THF rework/rebalance. Looking forward to Alchemist of course. I'm still eternally hopeful for a Duergar Battlerager Iconic. I would not say nay to a Talenta Halfling Racial Variant with a Raptor Mount in its racial enhancements. I'm still hoping they get around to an augment revamp/rebalance. As to Lynn's nose-twitching hint at two packs worth of old loot revamped... call me crazy but I'm sort of hoping for the packs with loot that is separated into N/H/E/EN/EH/EE to be settled into the style of today's loot. Consistency. Eveningstar commendation turn-ins could use a refresher too but... but since this is where KotB loot falls... this level range isn't in desperate need either.

Things I would buy:
Cosmetically... Unicorn Mount, Baby unicorn cosmetic pet, Fairy Dragon, Shadow Beholderling, wide range of transparent cloaks in various colors like the Gossamer Weave but maybe one that matches the Spectral Weapons of Night Revels for example. Maybe a cosmetic crown that mimics the Druid enhancement that has butterflies circling your head.

Coming this year: power creep and as many new bugs as bug fixes. Oh, and some new quests.

It's usually a copy and paste of the form-letter for LOTRO. Look for the LOTRO letter.

If they put some effort into it, they would be commenting on what they learned from the hardcore server, and what they plan to do moving forward based on what they learned. They would be commenting on any changes in direction, and how the change in direction is in response to player feedback.

They would be commenting on a number of player issues and questions that likely will not be discussed, ever.


Expect a little bit of content announcement and none of the suggestions above.

update 45 on lamania next week with alchemist and knight of chalice update as well as other paladin updates was in live stream today. I'm guessing after update 45 as most of that content was in last years letter.

Sure it gets a little later each year...

So far we know from last letter that hasn't hit yet:
> KotC and Arch-Mage updates (although AM could be awhile off)

> At least one "Secret Project" (can't recall where, but it was mentioned there were 2 things being worked on and horses were clearly one of em).

A haphazard attempt to psychically predict what the letter will contain:
> Content mostly, possible plans for another far off XP
> Any further ED changes necessary after large pass. (Primal Avatar, Magistar Sigils, Balances & Tweaks)
> New Universal Tree (Probably dual wielding staffs considering the direction they're going... but optimistically a caster/familiar tree would be awesome)
> Some kinda game mechanic or mode addition/change.
> Player Housing? (I suspect this is the other secret thing they are working on)
> Possibly Playable Kobolds or Knight Class (since they were a race/class that almost made the cut but didn't...so would make sense they'd be considered later).
