View Full Version : NEW PATCH now i cant get into the game it says one is already running then everything

got the new patch and tried getting online and i get a message that there is already one running and then there is nothing left its just gone.
tried to contact support couldn't get a message to anyone it seems like support doesn't want to hear directly from people i dont know I am not good with the computer so they have to fix it cause i can not

Step 0: Try rebooting your computer. If the computer thinks DDO is already running, this should stop the old instance and let you run a new one.
(not at my DDO PC, so don't have exact directions)
Step 1: If 0 didn't work, you may indeed have an issue with your DDO installation. On the login page, there's an arrow that leads to options or something. If you look around enough, you'll something like "repair installation". Try that!
Step 2: And if that fails, you may need to re-install the game entirely - it's a pain, but sometimes it's the right solution.
Step 3: If all else fails, try positing a screenshot or 2 to the Windows-PC-Technical-Assistance (https://www.ddo.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/55-Windows-PC-Technical-Assistance) subforum, to see if they can help.

Had to reinstall my windows after a drive went down. When I download the installer and start it, it gets stuck on client dat that is like 433mb. It downloads that, then starts the same over again. I used an older installer and it downloaded all the way through til the client audio dat around 7GB in. Same thing happened. Akamai net sessions won't install either.
My PC processor is an Intel i5-3470 with 4BG ram. Dell 3010. Had the game installed before when the old drive worked. Have Windows 7 Professional on it. Installed Directx 11. All Microsoft visuals and even the directx patch. It is the identical set up I had before. Now all of a sudden Akamai won't install and neither will the game. What gives?
