Wrong quest, the fire-acid belt drops in Sunrise.
I just did an U43 elite heroic farming: 4 ransack, 3 xbows, 2 leathers, none I wanted :P. I am nearing 20 Project Nemesis so far no loot at all (mix of normal and hard)...altho i did pull one item in first THTH, so i guess need to restock halflings for loot sacrifices.

Put up an LFM to ask people to help you farm it.
Items drop a lot more frequently with 6 people opening a chest vs. just 1 person opening the chest.

and remember that, after fisnihing the quest, return to kill the Abbot for the extra chest with named drops : )

Lucky! It took me around two dozen runs. I had multiples of every other item Sunrise drops. And the legendary version took another dozen. The funny part was I got the heroic and legendary on the same day. Random chance has a sense of humour.

"Ouch" indeed!
I've done this too - suxor. Always double check.

To answer your other Q, the droprate for named loot is ~around~ 3-6% in any "recent" quest.
Which means that, on average, half of players will see a drop in about a dozen or two runs (depending).

That's not correct.
The drop rate for named loot is 10% Normal, 16% hard, 33% Elite plus 1% per skull of Reaper you add above that.
Now, if a named item drops, it might not be the named item you want. If there is a 33% chance of a named item dropping in the quest and there are 15 named items that can drop, your chances of getting what you want are a lot lower than a quest where there are only 2 named items that drop. But that 3-6% drop rate is not even close to correct. Not even for Normal difficulty level.
Edit: I looked up the specific numbers and edited the comment.

This is correct if you assume even distribution of chances to drop for each possible item in the chest in question.
Yes, there a 33% chance for a named item to drop on Elite difficulty but there may not actually be a 20% chance to get the item you want if there's 5 possible drops. It's possible that item A has a 10% chance to drop while item E has a 30% chance to drop assuming the named item drop chance requirement is satisfied. It all depends on how the chest's item drop tables were constructed.
EDIT: Dropped unnecessary parenthesis.

We don't construct tables like this under our new system, fyi. If there is an item that we want substantially rarer, it goes on its own drop table. I split all of Ravenloft's loot as evenly as mathematically possible.

Excellent. That is not a piece of information we had without getting into the DAT files like Rodrak used to do.
Thanks!

What are you running on, casual? It's 33% on elite.
Run on elite or better. Farming for loot on any other difficulty is a waste of time, the drop rates are too low.

Hmmm... not sure where I got my numbers then, maybe some older quests/named items? Some are def ultra rare, far more than 33%.

On elite, 33% chance to drop a named item.
Sunrise = 5 named items. Assuming all five drop equally, 20% to get the item you want.
.33 x .20 = .066 or
6.6% chance to get a Burnscar Sash each run. That's approximately 15 runs (on average) to pull one if you're soloing it, or 2-3 runs with a full party.
Obviously, these are probabilities. The RNG gods can and often do laugh at our petty attempts to understand their ways.

just to go with this - with jibbers blade is it a 33% percent chance to maybe appear in chest then a percent to drop?
just curious

Lynnabel, if possible can you please confirm that the Wildwood Gauntlets from Reach for the Sky are not on their own loot table? I've seen 1 drop in 149 chests but at least 5 drops of the other 5 named items.

3BC does not fall under the category "new".

I'd be willing to bet real cash that Jibber's is one of those items with its own table.
