Artificer noob build?

Hi y'all im going to run an iconic duo with my friend he was probably going to run a pure teifling scoundrel bard. I was thinking a caster artificer focus on evocations saves, casting, healing ect before anyone says my other epic toon is an inquisitor so he wont let me run inquisitor lol so if I get a build from somewhere thanks.

Arcanotech artificers are on a constant decline from the start. They are amazing in low-mid heroics, good in higher heroics, solid in lower epics, and mediocre in mid-high epics. Arcanotechs are not suitable for anything over R3, honestly. They have some decent CC, supportive buffs, and healing, but just don't have the damage potential; they're a true jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none spellcaster, and it shows. I've taken an arcanotech from 1 to 30 and stayed at cap a bit. It's just not worth the effort if you want to do anything over epic elite, and even then you're just a weak (if somewhat durable) sorcerer with only one real damage type and some heals.

If you insist on an iconic caster artificer, go with a deep gnome and mix the arcanotechnician and mastermaker trees, focusing on support and evocation DC's; just don't place too much emphasis on damage, because you're not going to get very far, in that regard. A mastermaker can be very tanky and have a lot of damage mitigation potential with their multiple force fields; add in some tactical detonations and prismatic strikes and you're good to go. Removing the 1 wizard level isn't worth it if you're just going for an iconic life with your friend and not staying at cap.

While you did mention casting focused, this is a very noob friendly arty build that puts out some solid dps with mediocre gear while leveling. It is something I did a few weeks ago to start a first character on a new server. It does require a +5 Dexterity tome to get a couple of the dexterity limited feats (Improved Precise Shot and Combat Archery). You can pick different feats at first, and then respec to the dexterity limited feats after getting enough favor for the free +5 stat tome. It leveled quickly and was able to support EE and ER1 when in a group. It's a glass cannon, so soloing is mostly limited to EH. You can also heal others to a limited extent, and cast things like flame turrets and tactical detonation to a limited extent.

When geared with level 29 named sets, a sentient weapon and a full epic destiny, it can be pretty solid at level 30 given it has no past lives. It can probably be improved by others who have more experience. I left out a couple of AP that can be used for whatever is perceived as best.

If you play as Artificer, Warlock or Inquisitve. You dont need anything else really. Just play the class as it is.

If you want trapping skills rogue, if better ranged abilites than ranger if more tankiness and extra cleaves for free Eldricht wizard to be splashed. (and more goodies)

Deep Gnome Evoker / Illusionist should work just fine! Are you willing to pay for a +1 heart or not?
Anyway:
- stats would be INT and con
- feats would be all kind of metamagics (max emp quick heighten +)
- AP would be 41ish arcanotech, 21ish RMM, rest in race. 3 AP in Harper for int-to-hit if you want to have a weak melee or ranged backup.
- gear would be ideally some medium or heavy armor + large/tower shield

You are primarily a DC caster with heals.
CC: Color Spray and Tactical Detonation; Prismatic Strike for single targets, Lightning Sphere for soft CC. In epics add Burst of Glacial Wrath.
Keep Palliative Admixture on cooldown to grant the ever useful temporary HP. Use Admixture SLAs and the CCW spell for heals. Start tossing in advance to keep your team up.

Yeah pure caster arti is not really recommended for an epic life and def not worth burning a heart to go iconic with your friend...

I'd just focus on xbow damage with a ranger or rogue split, repeaters aren't inquis lol

well my current highest level toon is a ranger rogue art split inquisitor so I thinking something a little different

It might be fun to play in drac ed max lightning power dps gear

Burst, breath, vortex, lightning motes trash should melt low to mid reaper

Def want to be tiefling though for immunes

Do what you wish to. Yes you may suffer compared to catered builds but you will be playing what you want to play at least... (shrugs)
