Threnal east part 2

Hey,

today I was unable to complete Threnal east part 2 (escort Coyle and his pals).

Anyone else experienced this bug, and if its common, has it been reported yet?

EDIT: basically the 2 side doors to the library levers are not bashed down by earth elementals as its supposed to be.

I've had this happen, when Coyle wouldn't stay put, I had to escort him back to the library door and tell him to stay put, and that's when the elementals spawned and burst through the doors.
If that's not what happened with you, then I don't know what to do.

Escorting Coyle and his pals has long been a bit of a **** shoot. It's been a while since I have had it go wrong for me, but as a bug it has been reported many times. Its occurrence is somewhat rare, though, so the next time you try, Coyle will probably get close enough to the library to trigger the next part of the quest.

All I can think of is as Drecas points to, is a trigger issue, I have had Coyle stop well before the door and had to talk to him a couple of times to get him close enough to the door for the trigger to activate.

Coyle is a creep. He's been messing up quests for players for years. As previously mentioned sometimes you have to repeatedly talk him into following you to the library door and even then I've had him follow me back into the side passage beyond the earth elemental and have to take him back to the library door cursing his name the whole time.

I might be the only one to do this... but when I run the Anniversary quest I always run over him on the way to +Cordovan's room.

I've seen this happen many times, and it was always because Coyle stopped a little bit too early and wasn't close enough to the door. Talking with him again, sometimes more than once, will eventually get him closer and trigger the next part of the quest.

Well I can manage Coyle into and through the library doors just fine. Now he's in the library, standing there, and "Escort Coyle to the Library..." did complete, as well as the fellow explorer one.

But now it won't complete the "Enter the Library" part. We're all standing here in the library room's center square and the reaver is dead... When clicked on, Coyle says he'll hold this position, doesn't do anything else. No options there or anything.

Did this a couple of times already, ended up at the exact same state. How do I actually complete this?

Funny though, did this on another server a few months ago, didn't have a problem then.

I did have the objective.

Not for all that long, mind you... Manyshot and a couple of the special attacks kills it fast.

I was doing this solo with a hireling so had a noticeable time from the door opening to actually getting there, too.

I *think* that when you return to the open door, Coyle follows you inside. If you kill the reaver, even after getting the kill the reaver objective, but before slow walking Coyle comes in, it might bork it?

Well that might be it... sort of non-obvious though.

Tried again, this time didn't shoot until almost in melee range, and it worked.

Ah, the many joys of Threnal! Maybe the devs will make it legendary with really good loot and everyone will want to run it again (with the same bugs). Wouldn't that be a right good treat? :-)

Threnal needs a small revisit.

Maybe change the outside of quests to a wilderness area? Change the HP of the NPC of escort quests a little higher? You know, make it less painful.

Or add a worthwhile unique named item so players would actually run it?

I'm one of the few on Thelanis who favor runs everything, even Threnal. At level, it can be extremely annoying because even with LFM's, I probably will have to solo the chain and not all classes can perform well on escort missions.

Another small revisit would be to Sorrowdusk Isle, being that the NPC should wait for you outside of the quest instead of going around back and forth.

Last week, we got the door to the library open, but Coyle refused to go through. We restarted and ran it again, this time, when we took Coyle to the door, it seemed to work, but then he followed us to the elemental doors and stopped. If you talked to him, he said "I'll wait here till you get the door open". We were getting ready to restart AGAIN, when the elementals burst through the doors. I must say though, Coyle did help us fight them. So he isn't a complete tool.

Good thing I got Threnal on the free code...

I haven't brought my main characters through Threnal in like 12+ years...
Ran Threnal when the cap was Level 10, LOL; and after the desert of Mechnectauran came out, my characters haven't run it.

Tis a good thing that Coyle doesn't have any offsprings, otherwise, more adventurers would have remembered him like a kobold remembering Waterworks. ;)

I can't believe after all these years and different companies that have made so many promises that this bug still isn't fixed. Just ran it, making sure everything was triggered b4 proceeding. Still got the end quest bug. Putting in tickets and reporting bugs is a waste of time. At least b4 SSG took over you could usually get someone to respond to a ticket if you were willing to wait an hour or so. Maybe if i threaten to publish the Facebook profile and home address of the "head game designer" for SSG in game I might get someone's attention!
