Some Hardcore class data that I gathered

Greetings, everyone! As my subscription is about to end, I wanted to post some data I've gathered over the last few weeks regarding the hardcore server 2019. I looked at the WHO list and added up the class totals of everyone currently online at the time, so adding a Rog2/Art4 and a Rog3/Art3 means 5 rogue levels and 7 artificer levels in total. Typically I picked evenings because that's usually peak activity. There is no easy way for me to obtain data on enhancements, data on anyone offline, or data on anyone dead, so this is what I came up with.

Conclusions: Artificer is consistently the most played class, frequently multiclassed as well as pure. Warlocks typically come up second, usually pure. Rogues are heavily multiclassed, and are actually as abundant as Artificers. Sorcs, Bards and Druids are consistently near the bottom and rarely played.

Maybe take a look at the leader boards and see which classes are where?
Might be hard to gather them all as not everybody is always online.
Would be interesting what builds are more successful than others.

Artificer is consistently the most played class

No wonder on Hardcore. That class combines good survivability with outstanding self-heal and incredible damage at range and aoe. It basically ticks all the boxes that Hardcore demands. If there are no class changes done till the next season I actually expect even more Artificers to appear, as you can't get to 20/5k any easier than with that class.

What surprises me is the amount of Wizards on the list, but that might be duo to the bug with Vampire Shroud, that for some reason also works on physical ranged damage. So Wiz-PM + Inq becomes a very strong combo, and 2 levels of rogue will give you the necessary survival and trapping.

The problem with bards is that they are a 'jack of all trades'
master of none.

in other words, not particularly strong at anything
great hireling, crappy player class.

Bards need to be rebuilt from the ground up and they must excel at something important better than any other class.

Something

Give them the ability to 'steal' another classes enhancement tree 'call it bardic knowledge'

Hello again! I have resumed work on collecting (probably useless) data on the hardcore server. Using the same methods listed in the original post, I looked at various times shortly after the server opened. I've also begun to keep track of deaths, thanks to the new cause of death being mentioned. I won't be updating the forum much, but in-game I may post something once a day.
