When the Event ends and the free character transfer questions

When the event ends and in the "short period" when we get free server transfers
1) Do we need an empty slot on the destination server for each character we choose to transfer?
2) If we have an iconic in Hard Core league and we choose to transfer it but it is below level 15, will it stay at the same level on the new server and need to be leveled up? or will it e capable of auto-leveling to 15 to start at the normal iconic beginning?

As opposed to... getting some variation on a free character slot? Yes, you need an empty slot on the target server. (Dev's stated this somewhere.)

I think they were asking if you could move a character but have them be unplayable until you purchased a slot, kind of like what happens if you move from VIP to premium and have too many characters.

just out of curiosity what about names... on most servers if a name is taken you can't create the character but if you transfer a character with a per-existing name on the server then what ?

Guessing if it same name it will go like last server merge. Something like the duplicate name from Hardcore will have a hypen HardCore attached at end

I'd like to keep the characters I played. So, when the transfer occurs will all the alts. be transfered regardless of how many slots I have available. It would make sence to allow all alts to be transfered as in time I would purchase the extra slots to regain access to said alts. Ive put the time into them I think its bad if all that invested time was deleted. Non of the answers above have stated anything but guesses.

When I transferred over from the euro servers I had many alts that I had to pick through one at a time, to keep or delete, when I decided to keep an alt I had to puchase another slot to keep or dismiss the next and so on..
