So things in inventory or personal bank would transfer.

If not, I would seriously be disappointed.

Still, it seems that this isn't entirely clear to the player base on the HCL server as this rumor seems to persist.

What happens to my characters at the end of the Hardcore League?


At the end of the Hardcore League, we will be offering free Character Transfers to all characters - living or dead. Dead characters will be able to find their way back to the land of the living once they set foot on a non-Hardcore server. Characters will also bring their personal inventory with them, as with a regular character transfer. Note that normal character transfer restrictions apply - shared bank items, guild airships, TR caches, etc will not transfer off the server.

Again, thx for the reply and pointing to the notes stating the rules for character transfer.

Tho I must say, pendant little me is screaming in my ear here and the only way to silence it is by writing this down, there is a caveat in the negative wording of the world transfer guide and the HCL faq answers which are written down in a positive manner. Where one states you will not transfer the shared bank and crafting storage the other states you will transfer your personal inventory.

Eg, I don't know what the state of the personal bank is. Maybe I'm assuming there is difference between backpack and bank, maybe they both fall under "personal inventory", I just don't know and am not familiar with character transfers at all.

As it stand now if I lessor tr and assume any other type of tr I lose my eyes form 1750 favor will morality be left in game after hardcore server goes down or will we all just eventually lose that reward. The only way to get it back now is to talk to morality again.

I've done 3 character transfers over the years, two where you had to submit a support ticket, and one much easier transfer using the launcher application. In all cases the following applied:

1. Character inventory - yes.
2. Character bank - yes.
3. Shared bank - no.
4. Astral shards - no.

You are also given a free character rename option, so if your character name is already in use on the world/server you transfer TO. Your name will initially be appended with a number (like johnsmith-1), but then you use the free rename option to create a new name.

I agree that you should have everything ready prior to Nov 15th. However, you don't go to the login screen to transfer. When you launch the DDO client, instead of selecting a server and clicking PLAY (or double clicking the server) you click TRANSFER (and it doesn't matter which world is highlighted at this point). After selecting TRANSFER the "Character Transfer Wizard" window pops up and walks you through the process. You select the world your character is currently on (Hardcore) then a list of all your characters on Hardcore comes up. You select which character you want to transfer. Then finally you select the NEW world you want to transfer that character to.

You can cancel at any time prior to the final step, so you can go do it right now to see what I'm talking about. However, the HARDCORE server does not yet appear as one of the choices, only the regular servers.

I know that shared bank doesn't transfer with the character, but I hope that an overflowing backpack will transfer. I'm already overflowing my backpack and I'm rolling the daily dice every day so that I can transfer the XP and prizes to my main server. After 90 days, I'm going to have way more than even a normal full backpack with max inventory spaces.

I guess I'll be a good testcase to see how that works for the eventual "transfer your characters" version of a possible server merge.

Can you just make another character on the HC server? You will be able to transfer both for free.
