In Project Nemesis Thunderstroke is going through spell absorb. Zulkis (the tiefling) casts it.
I don't know if this issue applies to the other level 9 spells.

Wow, I checked him out to verify this, thinking to myself "pshaw, there's no way he's actually got Thunderstroke in his spellbook" but yep, he's got it.

The problem appears to be that the damage component is missing the trait "Magic" which causes the ward part of absorption to miss its mark considerably. Easy fix, should be in the next major patch.
