Just a theory, but I don't think Mortality behaves correctly if you skip claming the first tier reward, and instead talk to him the first time when you have the second. For example, if you get 10 reaper points, but do NOT talk to him, then when you get 20 reaper points, does he skip the first reward?

I can't imagine anyone NOT running right to him, but I wonder if this weird outlier case was tested.

This interaction was tested before release. All good. Also, why on earth would someone wait to pick up the rewards that long all the while risking death? =P
